Hace algunos días me entere de una interesante iniciativa de mi querida @chacald.dcymt cuyo objetivo es crear una manualidad para papá así que mi cerebro de inmediato comenzó a maquinar que podía hacer para regalar a papá y lo que logre vislumbrar fue una letra capital que desemboco en la caja sorpresa que les muestro a continuación, espero me acompañen en este tutorial y les sea muy útil.

A few days ago I found out about an interesting initiative of my dear @chacald.dcymt whose goal is to create a craft for dad so my brain immediately began to scheme what I could do to give to dad and what I managed to glimpse was a capital letter that led to the surprise box that I show you below, I hope you join me in this tutorial and you find it very useful.

Como mencione anteriormente la idea comenzó con una letra, la "P" de papá hace rato quería intentar recrear estas letras con filigranas de papel así que decidí hacerla sobre individualmente sobre un cartón en kilo del mas grueso marque la inicial y recorte con ayuda de un bisturí, luego recorte la misma letra esta vez en una cartulina blanca y la pegue justo encima.

Luego con un tira de papel de 5mm lo pegue alrededor del borde de toda la letra, creando así un espacio para hacer la filigrana de papel

As I mentioned before the idea started with a letter, the "P" for dad in spanish I wanted to try to recreate these letters with paper watermarks so I decided to make it individually on a cardboard in kilo of the thickest one, I marked the initial and cut it out with a scalpel, then I cut the same letter this time on a white cardboard and glued it right on top.

Then with a 5mm strip of paper I glued it around the edge of the whole letter, creating a space to make the paper filigree.

Mi padre es un educador jubilado y ahora se dedica mas que todo a la agricultura, especialmente al cultivo de café es por esto que para esta filigrana quise replicar lar ramas de la planta del café con sus rojos frutos. Para ello recorte tiras de papel de 5mm. cada una u las enrolle sobre si misma y aplaste para crear las hojas, para las ramas extendí la tira de papel con pegamento sobre la letra creando lineas curvas.

Para los frutos hice los mismo, recorte el papel rojo y enrolle esta vez no aplaste y cree varios frutos de diferentes tamaños que pegue en las puntas de las ramas.
Luego para cubrir la parte de atrás de la letra , la marque sobre un foami y asegure con pega al reverso

My father is a retired educator and now he is mostly dedicated to agriculture, especially to the cultivation of coffee, that is why for this filigree I wanted to replicate the branches of the coffee plant with its red fruits. For this I cut strips of paper of 5mm. each and rolled them on itself and flattened them to create the leaves, for the branches I extended the paper strip with glue over the letter creating curved lines.

For the fruits I did the same, I cut the red paper and rolled this time I didn't flatten and created several fruits of different sizes that I glued on the tips of the branches.
Then to cover the back of the letter, mark it on foami and secure it with glue on the back.

Y así quedo la letra, a mi me encanta dibujar y crear todo tipo de letras por lo que fue muy entretenido todo el procedimiento, ahora solo tenia que idear como hacer el resto del regalo, pensé en una tarjeta, pero no logre resolver como hacerla que se apreciara la tridimensional de la letra (todo esto en mi cabeza), así que decidí hacer una caja....

A ver les comento que quería para la base un hexágono, ya que ademas de agricultor, mi abuelo también heredo su granja de abejas, así que pensé en hacer la forma que crean en sus panales, pero la geometría no es lo mio y resulto en un octágono, este lo recorte de un pedazo de cartón de caja, luego comencé construir los lados, en una cartulina de 10cm de alto recorte 5 de los lados de la caja, que el resto seria desplegable.

Vale a acotar que la mayoría de lo materiales que he usado en esta manualidad son de reciclaje de otras manualidades o de cartulinas de cajas. los otros tres lados los recorte igual de 10 cm de alto por 5.5cm de ancho.

Let me tell you that I wanted a hexagon for the base, since besides being a farmer, my grandfather also inherited his bee farm, so I thought of making the shape they create in their honeycombs, but geometry is not my thing and resulted in an octagon, this I cut from a piece of cardboard box, then I started to build the sides, in a 10cm high cardboard cut 5 of the sides of the box, the rest would be folding.

It is worth noting that most of the materials I have used in this craft are recycled from other crafts or cardboard boxes. The other three sides were cut the same 10cm high by 5.5cm wide.

Seguidamente, comencé a hacer la tapa, para ello marque la base en una cartulina blanca y añadí medio centímetro a cada lado para poder cerrarla luego cómodamente, en una tira de cartulina de 3cm. marque todos los lados de la tapa y luego marque unas pestañas de 5mm. para pegar a la base.

Next, I began to make the lid, for this I marked the base on a white cardboard and added half a centimeter on each side to be able to close it comfortably, on a strip of cardboard of 3cm. mark all the sides of the lid and then mark some tabs of 5mm. to stick to the base.

Luego recorte nuevamente de una cartulina blanca la base de la caja y la tapa para forrarla y darle un acabado limpio y por supuesto para ocultar donde se unen las partes de la caja.

Then cut out again from white cardboard the base of the box and the lid to line it and give it a clean finish and of course to hide where the parts of the box meet.

Luego forre las pestañas de la tapa para lo cual use papel estampado de estrellas, la parte superior con papel azul, obviamente como la fiesta esta dentro de la caja opte por algo mas minimista en la tapa un lazo que hice con foami y escribí la frase feliz día papá sobre cartulina blanca y lo pegue a la tapa.

Then I lined the flaps of the lid using star patterned paper, the top with blue paper, obviously as the party is inside the box I opted for something more minimalist on the lid a bow I made with foami and wrote the phrase happy daddy's day on white cardboard and glued it to the lid.

Ahora en la parte interna, coloque la letra del lado izquierdo y comencé a escribir la frase padre Te quiero en el fondo de la caja a modo que al verlo desde perspectiva superior se pueda leer con la letra capital toda la frase.

Now on the inside, I placed the letter on the left side and began to write the phrase "father I love you" on the bottom of the box so that when viewed from a higher perspective, the whole phrase can be read with the capital letter.

Seguidamente pegue los lados de la caja a la base, pero antes pegue en cada una de las caras rectángulos de papel los cuales recorte con una tijera de forma, también coloque colgando en medio un hilo con pequeños banderines de colores.

Luego probé que todo calzará bien y forré seguidamente los lados externos de la caja con papel azul, el mismo usado en la tapa. en el pie de las letra capital cree nuevas hojas y frutos que recorren la base de la caja y con esto di por finalizado este proyecto.

Me encanta como funciona la caja, las tapas desplegables son lo suficientemente pesadas para caer por gravedad de inmediato... no pensé que mi primero idea de una letra finalizaría en esta caja sorpresa desplegable y estoy muy feliz...

I love the way the box works, the pop-up lids are heavy enough to drop by gravity right away... I didn't think my first letter idea would end up in this surprise pop-up box and I'm very happy....

De momento no tengo fotografías impresas que pueda usar para personalizar esta caja a papá pero especifique donde colocaría las fotos, dedicatorias y por supuesto donde colocaría los dulces o el presente que podría regalar papá espero que esta manualidad sea muy útil para todos, ¿te gustaría algo así para tu papá?
