Peace and Quiet [Qurator's Photo Quest | Panorama]

Good morning... and happy Friday!

This is my entry for the Qurator's Photo Quest | Panorama, hosted by @qurator. The theme for this week is Panorama. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I took this shot on a remote area very close to the border of Spain. The houses you see down on the valley are the last ones before reaching the River Minho, which separates Portugal and Spain. From where I stood until Spain it's only 2.39 km in a straight line, which means from here you can see Spain at the distance (yep, it's those mountains in the horizon.)

This is a perfect place for hermits, since you won't get many neighbours here. There's a house here and there, usually at least 1km apart from each other... or more. If you want to run away from society and bad neighbours, this is a wonderful spot to do it. Over here, you can be sure that no one will bother you. At all!

However, you'll also won't find any grocery stores around. You either plant and grow your own food... or you'll waste a lot of gas money to regularly drive to the nearest shop.

Could you live in a place like this...?๐Ÿค”

Sounds like the right place to be far away from maddening crowd!

Definitely more inconvenient not having a store close, perhaps a good idea for future business in the region. One family general store, trade produce between community, little else to bother you.

Ahahah... and who would they sell to? with just a couple of customers, surely they'd go broke! ๐Ÿ˜†

Make a trading post on wheels perhaps, we had that many years ago.

Guys fitted out old Combi camper or Ford trucks into a shop on wheels visiting rural areas once or twice a week (to the living). !LOLZ

Looks to me Spain is much farther than 2.9 kms from where you are standing. I mean I jog 4 kms daily and I don't think I can run towards those mountains even in a straight line. They look soooo far off. Great shot, though. Love your camera!

Nice panorama shot!
To answer your question...

Could you live in a place like this...?

Not yet, but I'm planning to! Something self-sustainable. As things are rolling out in this crazy world, it seems to me it would be the only way to survive if you don't want to live in those 15-minutes-cities, eat fake meat produced by some conglomerate's company, or with a brain connected to some cloud living like a zombie in some metaverse or similar until they decide to switch you off and cancel all your virtual accounts with all your virtual money.
