ASEAN Hive Community Challenge #73: Landscape Photography (City and Countryside)

I love photography although I usually just take photos using my smartphone, but whenever I see something that interests me, I take a snap. There are even times when I take snaps of the most random things.

As for the ASEAN Hive Community Challenge this week, we're tasked to take photos of landscapes or landscape photography. Since I live in a city, it was quite a disadvantage but then I decided to still go around our area to take some photos. Good thing, I started participating in Wednesday Walk so I asked papa that we take another route than usual so I can take some photos. In addition, mama and I also went out last Wednesday, so there are more pics that I'm happy to share here.

Let's start!!!!

image.png

The photo is quite dark as we pass by this area at around 5:30 in the morning. The river you see here is called Mananga River.

image.png

This part of the river is nearby residential areas going to the coastal area of my city. This part of the river isn't clean, but the government often hold campaigns to clean this river. However, the middle part of this river in the mountainside is really clear and clean. It's near our water dam which provides water supply in various places in Cebu.

I've been to the water dam when I was in high school when my classmates and I had to shoot some videos for our science project. The place is around 10km away from where I live, so the other end of the river is even much farther.

image.png

I was on top of a bridge when I took this photo. These are the houses near the river. They're built in an elevated area, but some smaller houses are still in danger when the river overflows in times of heavy rain and flooding. There are more houses on the other side.

image.png

image.png

After crossing the bridge, there's this greenery that we passed by. There are some flowery plants and lots of trees. I wonder who owns this place. It's nice to see this much greenery in the city, though. :)

Our city hall's landscape and plaza are also very pretty. There was a huge space beside the plaza before, but it's currently close due to construction. Our local government is planning to make a skatepark as well as a huge playground in that area.

image.png

This here is the proposed project. They're making use of the huge space and I'm glad that they're keeping the trees, though. I tried digging my gallery for photos of this area, so I'm sharing them below as well.

I'd surely miss the old place, but I'm also quite excited to see the finished project. I guess it's nice to have such facilities in our city, especially there are quite a number of young people here. I wonder if they're going to hold free zumba classes again in this area someday. It would be awesome if they do. We used to do it in front of the city hall every Friday afternoon, and on weekend mornings.

image.png

We used the smaller road when going home that time. Under this bridge is also the continuation of the river I showed you earlier. There are more houses around this area, so they built some levees or artificial walls beside the river to prevent flooding. And ohh, isn't the sunrise pretty? I love taking photos of sunrise!!! (I can't take sunset photos in this area, though)

image.png

A sunrise photo I took before. It's in a beach in my city. I hope to take this kind of photo again soon. Last time I attempted to do so, it was so cloudy. T_T

Anyway, I mentioned earlier that mama and I went somewhere last Wednesday as well. We weren't able to go to Skypark, but in one of the stores we entered, there's this interesting landscape view, so I decided to take some shots.

image.png

image.png

It's in the middle of the shopping mall. We don't have access to this place, so I'm curious about it. The doors to this part of the mall are closed. This is the view from one of the shops.

image.png

If you're curious of the structure, it's that tall part in the middle of this circular mall. I took this photo the last time I went there with papa...

BONUS PHOTOS:

The following are photos I took when we went to the countryside.

These are some landscape photos I took when I visited my father's hometown in another island. :)

And lastly, that one time my bestie and I climbed a mountain here in Cebu. Then, got the whole cold spring and beach for ourselves. <3

I really love the countryside! I want to be surrounded by nature, feel the cool breeze at night and listen to the sound of silence. Although the city also has interesting views and landscape, nothing really beats the beauty of nature.

I hope you enjoyed my post today. It was fun introducing the places I passed by as I walked around our city as well as showing the gorgeous landscape photos I took in various places in the past. Thanks for checking this post out. See you around! <3

These are all a good shot, I can tell how much you like photography. Same woth me, I'm just glad that we don't need to buy sn expensive camera just to capture a moment, places, things or just anything using our smartphone. As long as naka full charge and maganda din quality ng cam ng phone no, oks na oks na, ehe.

Wow! I am so surprised Mananga river now is so small..... We used to live in Mohon, Talisay during the 80's up to the mid 90's. Mananga river was just newly constructed during those times. It used to be spacious, I mean the dike is far from the river and it's really spacious, well probably because there aren't no houses below the bridge bridge or like I mean on the area. Wow! Now I could not even tell that it's the Mananga river☺️😄.

You have a lot of beautiful photos here dear. Good luck!

This part of the river is near SRP... I guess the part in Tabunok (Mananga bridge) is much wider. :)
My family transferred here around 2005, so I also don't know how Mananga river looked like in the 80s/90s. hahah

Thank you so much. ^^

Well what can I say, I am left captivated. You certainly live in a very beautiful area. It seems to be a nice mix of urban and rural, and both spaces very close to each other. I now know so many bloggers from your area that I recognized the mall 🤣.

It is... Well our city is next to the main city in our island. It has mountains on one side and the sea on the other... in the middle are the establishments. Though our city is mostly a residential one.

Trueeee... there are a bunch of bloggers from Cebu. :)
