ASEAN Hive Community Challenge #72: The Best Sandwich Wins (Choose Your Fighter!)

It's time for another ASEAN Hive Community Challenge and this week's challenge is entitled, "The Best Sandwich Wins". Having said that, I believe we'd have to choose our fighter. lol

In this post, I'll show you some of the sandwiches my family and I had. There's a variety of them depending on the available ingredients or perhaps what we're in the mood for. Some of the pictures I'll be using are old ones which are miraculously still in my gallery. (Guess it helps to keep photos for challenges like this after all. heeee~)

So, let's start!!!!

This one here is definitely a classic for me. The white sliced bread is packed with lettuce, cheese, mayonnaise and ham. It's quite heavy, so it's good to eat if you're going to have a busy day. I miss having this sandwich. We used to have this sandwich a lot last year and earlier this year when our lettuce still existed. haha I really have to plant some lettuce again.

Lettuce is my favorite! I'd be content with just bread, lettuce and a bit of banana ketchup! <3

See?? hahaha.... I still kept this cute photo of my very simple lettuce and ketchup sandwich. :) Banana ketchup is a bit sweet, so it goes well with this baby. :)

Do you have a craving for some pizza, but you got no pizza dough and no oven? No problem!!!!

All you need is some sliced bread loaf and the ingredients you want for your toppings! In our case, we put some ketchup, sliced ham, grated cheese and pineapple bits. (I know it's a sin for some countries to put pineapple on pizza, but it's a matter of preference, so shhhhhh~)

Next fighter is our egg-mayo and lettuce combination!

I also really like this kind of sandwich. Just crush some boiled eggs, add some mayo... place them on your loaf, add lots of lettuce and you're good to go!!!

Dang!!! I WANT ME LETTUCE!!!!! T_T

For the past three Saturdays (including today), I've been waking up earlier than usual because I have a Skype class at 7:30. I usually start work at 10AM, but since it's my personal student, I decided to accept it despite the early schedule. (Let's not be choosy if we want more income.. haha)

Anyway, my mama who usually wakes up at 9 sent me a message at 6 saying my brekky is ready. When I went out of the room to get some food, I saw this. <3

There were some sliced bread, boiled egg, sliced cheese and chicken spread on the table. There's also some boiled water for me to make my coffee... and since I have all these great ingredients, I made my self a couple sandwiches to pair with my yummy coffee.

Here's the sandwich I had for breakfast earlier today. It would have been so much better with lettuce, but I'm not complaining. This is already really yummy and enough for me to be energized for my Saturday grind.

Side note... not related to sandwich, but I want to say...

I am obsessed with these coffee granules (Nescafe Gold) and chocolate combo. I started this a few weeks back. I placed some dark chocolate into my coffee... but papa bought mama some milk chocolate yesterday, so I got myself a small bar and added it to my coffee as well. haha It was soooo good! It wasn't very sweet since the coffee is quite strong, but I love it!!!!

ANYWAY... Intermission is over!

There's one more sandwich that I really love especially when I'm feeling down and stressed. I don't eat it often because it's not that healthy and it won't be good for my voice. Anyway, this final fighter is this amazing and delicious... ICE CREAM SANDWICH!!!!

Since it's the weekend, I decided to have this as a dessert. I had some spicy noodles for lunch, so to cure my tongue and palate, I also ate this yummy ice cream sandwich. (I should exercise a lot soon! I'm eating too much junk food.. XD)

And yeah, that's the last fighter I'm introducing you guys... now, choose. Which one do you like? hahah

Thanks for checking and I'll see you next time! I'm a bit sleepy, but I'll have another class tonight... guess I'll just try and stay awake then. Have a great one!!!! (^^,)/

Some very interesting creations. Do you have a small toaster oven? This is certainly a useful tool for sandwiches, we used to have one years ago, but had to sell it because it was overloading our electric supply. I too like to mix a coffee packet with a scoop of hot cocoa powder, especially with a morning bread of some kind. Forgot about ice cream sandwiches, fond childhood memories because my grandpa always kept a few in his freezer.

We don't have a small toaster oven anymore, though we used to have one. Now, we have a tiny sandwich maker if we feel like toasting or heating our sandwich...

Yes... I prefer coffee + cocoa/chocolate rather than milk. haha Though I like coffee + soy milk, too... xDD

Awww... it must have been fun raiding grandpa's freezer then??? xD
