Happy Sunday dear friends of Hive. I almost reached 32 and about 25 years ago, when it was my fifth birthday, my father gave me my first fishing rod, which I still jealously keep today. I don't have clear memories of childhood, but that day, I don't know why, I remember it very well, I was so happy that I couldn't describe it, even though I still didn't know anything about fishing, I was living a dream.

2016 - My First monster fish, a beautiful sturgeon of unknown weight, estimated between 25 and 30 kg.

In the following days, he took me fishing, for the first time we went to a private pond to fish some trout. My father just knew the basics of that fishing, but it was enough to fish well, if followed correctly. So, being very patient he and I inclined to learn, already that day, I immediately caught my first trout and the joy was immense, a fire was lit inside me.

2013 - My first carp in the Po, I don't even look like me.

The fire of passion for fishing, which in a few years led me to focus on more ambitious goals. Already at the age of 10, bike, backpack, fishing rod and a handful of worms, headed to fish in the canals and rivers around the house. I got to know them a greater variety of fish, so, I began to study also the fish fauna of our fresh waters, the more I practiced and the more I read, the greater my ambitions and goals, to the point that my goal became, to catch all the fish of fresh water present in Italy, over a kilo, at least to be fished with a fishing rod. I am not writing the whole list, there are over 100 species and subspecies, but it is 95% completed, I would only miss the barbel, the burbot, the asp, the pike perch and the char.

When I reached adolescence, I became acquainted with the philosophy of catch and release, fishing for passion, for the challenge against fish and nature, but without killing anything, always releasing the fish with care. Between this new mentality and the saturation of basic fishing, the desire for challenge grew, to get involved and talking to some catfish and carp fishermen, who told me about fights lasting over an hour, fish with immense strength, rods that they broke, people dragged into the water, extreme fishing, it was all melody to my ears.

I fell madly in love with this world, my adventure began among the great lakes and rivers of Northern Italy, especially in the Po. Where every time, among wild flora, raiders of the Po, mosquitoes and various insects, you had to arm yourself as if you were going to war, but it was so compelling that you did not calculate the dangers and threw yourself headlong.

I spent 6/7 years between the shores especially of Po, Brenta and Adige, wild years, just over twenty, I was bold and in constant search of adrenaline, of the epic fight, which sometimes came and were memorable days, others were just nights spent in the company of friends and nature, but there were always experiences that you carried in your heart.

In recent years, unfortunately, due to many factors, including work, health, epidemics, the time available was short and I lost my hand a bit, despite the fact that great satisfactions have also arrived, such as some personal records and goals for rare fish, as well as having transmitted this fantastic passion to my mother since she retired, who has a lot of fun fishing for carp and amur and then taking photos, which I would like to talk about in detail in the following posts, because they were important days, which they brought about changes and made the fire inside me burn even more.

Buona Domenica cari amici di Hive. Ho quasi raggiunto i 32 anni e circa 25 anni anni fa, quando fu il mio quinto compleanno, mio padre mi regalò la mia prima canna da pesca, che tutt'oggi conservo gelosamente. Non ho ricordi nitidi dell'infanzia, ma quel giorno, non so perché, lo ricordo molto bene, ero così felice che non saprei descriverlo, anche se ancora non conoscevo nulla della pesca, stavo vivendo un sogno.

2016 - Il mio Primo monster fish, un bel storione di peso sconosciuto, stimato tra i 25 e i 30 kg.

Nei giorni seguenti, mi portò a pescare, per la prima volta andammo in un laghetto privato a pescare alcune trote. Mio padre conosceva giusto le basi di quella pesca, ma era sufficiente per pescare bene, se seguite correttamente. Così, essendo molto paziente lui e io propenso a imparare, già quel giorno, presi subito le mie prime trote e la gioia era immensa, si era acceso un fuoco dentro di me.

2013 - La mia prima carpa nel Po, non sembro nemmeno io.

Il fuoco della passione per la pesca, che mi portò in pochi anni a puntare su obiettivi più ambiziosi. Già all'età di 10 anni, bici, zainetto in spalle, canna da pesca e una manciata di vermi, diretti a pescare nelle rogge e nei fiumiciattoli nei dintorni di casa. Li conobbi una varietà maggiore di pesci, così, iniziai a studiare anche la fauna ittica delle nostre acque dolci, più praticavo e più leggevo, maggiori erano le mie ambizioni e obiettivi, fino al punto che il mio obiettivo diventò, pescare tutti i pesci d'acqua dolce presenti in Italia, superiori al chilo, perlomeno da pescare con canna da pesca. Non vi scrivo tutto l'elenco, sono oltre 100 specie e sottospecie, ma è completato al 95%, mi mancherebbe solo il barbo, la bottatrice, l'aspio, il luccio perca e il salmerino.

Raggiunta l'età adolescenziale, conobbi la filosofia del catch and release, pescare per passione, per la sfida contro pesce e natura, ma senza uccidere nulla, liberando sempre il pesce con cura. Tra questa nuova mentalità e la saturazione della pesca basilare, cresceva la voglia di sfida, di mettermi in gioco e parlando con alcuni pescatori di siluro e carpe, che mi raccontavano di combattimenti di oltre un'ora, pesci con una forza immensa, canne che si spezzavano, persone trascinate in acqua, la pesca estrema, era tutta melodia per le mie orecchie.

Mi innamorai follemente di questo mondo, iniziò la mia avventura tra i grandi laghi e fiumi del Nord Italia, soprattutto nel Po. Dove ogni volta, tra flora selvaggia, predoni del Po, zanzare e insetti vari, dovevi armarti come stessi andando in guerra, ma era così avvincente, che i pericoli non li calcolavi e ti buttavi a capofitto.

Ho passato 6/7 anni tra le sponde soprattutto di Po, Brenta e Adige, anni wild, poco più che ventenne, ero spavaldo e in costante ricerca di adrenalina, del combattimento epico, che alcune volte arrivò e furono giorni memorabili, altre furono solo notti passate in compagnia di amici e natura, ma rimanevano sempre esperienze che ti portavi nel cuore.

Negli ultimi anni, purtroppo, per via di molti fattori, tra lavoro, salute, epidemie, il tempo a disposizione è stato poco e ho perso un po' la mano, nonostante siano arrivate ugualmente delle grandissime soddisfazioni, come alcuni record personali e obiettivi di pesci rari, nonché aver trasmesso questa fantastica passione anche a mia madre da quando è in pensione, che si diverte da matta pescare carpe e amur e fare poi le foto, di cui vorrei parlare in dettaglio nei seguenti post, perché furono giorni importanti, che determinarono cambiamenti e fecero ardere ancor più il fuoco dentro di me.
