Hello Everyone,

Well, it had to happen, after almost three years, I've caught a cold! 😜
Luckily, I'm on Hive and even when I having a duvet day, everything is still stacking! πŸ€‘

How's your week been Savers? Hope you are all good!

Now then, for anyone who doesn't know already, @amr008 posted interesting statistics about EDS. Make your way over here to read the post!

Welcome to our new members, too, never too late to start saving!

Remember the CubLife (CL) token if you are looking for a regular contribution to your savings while you are waiting for the next EDS distribution token! Here's the latest CL weekly post.

There's interesting news in the weekly post, too:

"One thing I wanted to point out was I noticed that the price of CL tokens has reached almost 5 LEO each. You can see this in the earnings table marked in orange. CUBlife launched with a price of roughly 1.20 LEO per token so token holders have seen a 4x ROI in around 18 months while receiving weekly LEO payments equal to over 35% for the first year and closer to 25% this year so far on average. There are not many tokens on HE that can produce such yields and even fewer within the LeoFinance ecosystem as I consider CUBlife to be a LeoFinance project. Dare I say it? CUBlife has outperformed LBI on almost all fronts by miles and is now worth around 25% of the value of LBI. Growth is easier with small money so I'd put this down as the main reason for its performance along with asset selection."

EDS Mini Miner (EDSMM) - SOLD OUT ... I mean, REALLY SOLD OUT.

There are still 350 EDSMMs for sale at .001 HIVE above the original price (so 1.001 HIVE)
All gone, bye bye. Well done all those savers that snapped up some extras.

There will be a new distribution token for EDS in a few months time, so you may want to start stacking small amounts of HIVE savings in preparation for that.

Saturday Savers Club is going to be giving away EDSMMs from now until the end of the year. These are sponsored by @shanibeer. Each For your chance to win, take part in each of the contests as they come up in the Saturday Savers Post.

EDSMM Contests

Last week, the challenge was air drops.

Again, we had a great response to the challenge - check last weeks' post for more useful info in the comments. We had ten participants and we have a winner: @vaynard86 - yay! check your wallet!

Remember this idea, to upvote each other's savings posts (I would add to make sure you upvote the Saturday Savers Club post, too) and leave a little comment, that's always motivating!

THIS WEEK'S CONTEST

This week, the challenge is about HSBI. Originally SBI, this is a great initiative to help build accounts. You can buy an HSBI for 1 HIVE and, at the same time, you sponsor another account. Both accounts then receive votes for life on posts. The size of the vote and how frequently you receive a vote depends on how many HSBI you hold.

For a chance to win and EDSMM and an HSBI tell us your thoughts about the HSBI initiative. Do you hold any HSBI? How did you get them? What are the benefits of the initiative? Are there any potential down-sides? You can read the HSBI FAQs and lots more on the @steembasicincome account.

The small print: What do you think about a savings quiz for the end of the year? Prizes, of course πŸ˜‰

Saturday Savers Club Discord Chat

Ground Rules:

  • The SPI family motto is Get Rich Slowly. This covers EDS, EDSM and EDSMM, the home tokens for the Saturday Savers Club, as well as SPI, LBI and CL. The bottom line is that we are looking for well-researched options which bring a steady income. Good options will have an identifiable and easily accessible team (with emphasis on more than one person involved), a clear plan and use case for the token, and transparency and accountability through regular reporting.
  • Individual members are free (of course they are) to publish guides to tokens under their own account - and any number of members can do that.

Hi, I've had the best week since I joined Hive. I had my highest post rewards ever, and also won a fantastic WOO competition, I completed my LEO passive growth goal and a few other smaller goals too. My full post is here:

https://leofinance.io/@hoosie/saturday-savers-club-progress-week-33-05-11-22-best-week-ever-with-huge-woo-win-and-great-post-rewards

I dont know anything about HSBI, and dont hold any, so thanks for the link to the FAQ - its something I've been wanting to know more about.

Hope everyone else had a great week too - cheers !

Oh I do like HSBI I think I have 30something now. I am someone who gives one away each week to the winner of #threetunetuesday
My savings week has been pretty good and I graded myself a 9 I think!

Oh yes, I love it, especially getting votes, for an account like mine those votes are very welcome:)

I love the HSBI project! @ecoinstant just wrote a great article about it here! I've been slowly acquiring HSBI from participating in contests and giveaways. I'm up to 16 HSBI shares so far, and I hope to get many more!

I love that when you sponsor another account, that both your own and the other account get a share! That's a wonderful way to spread the word about HSBI and to give other people, especially newbies, a helping hand in growing their accounts! The only potential downsides to it might be that initially, when someone has only a few shares, the votes that they receive on their posts are for quite little, and they are few and far between. Also, there are people in the Hive community that do not look kindly on HSBI, so it's something of a taboo subject. Personally I think it's great, and I fully support it! πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ’š

Congrats to this week's winners!

Yay HSBI! I think it's a great program. I have a nice chunk of shares on this account, and only a small amount on FaerieStories so far. I've done a ton of contests over the years to give away shares, which helps the winner stack AND myself, so it's a win-win. I also used to sponsor one share a week for the Engagement League, but it's been a while.

I'm so sorry you have a cold! I hope you feel better soon. <3

I will have to do more of those! It's been a while. I did a couple on FaerieStories, but not many since I was trying to save up for my SSC goals.

Hi Savers ! First things first... @shanibeer I hope you feel better soon ! I spent the last week with probably the same cold, it's miserable. Jakemans menthol lozenges and Otrivine nose spray are lifesavers....

I did my weekly post yesterday; it was a pretty good week - https://ecency.com/hive-167922/@alonicus/saturdaysavers-club-progress-week-17-45

On the SBI question, I've got a few (13 I think) which I mostly earned as rewards from the Freewriters Zapfic writing contests. They are an idea I really like, to the extent that I'm thinking of switching the support I give a community of new users from delegations to SBI.

In terms of downsides to SBI, there are a couple.

The first is that unlike delegations, it means you're permanently moving HIVE out of your account, so there's no option to return them, and no recourse if the program ever finishes. I'm slightly uneasy with the wording on way that the rewards can be terminated if you're ever blacklisted or caught plagiarising. I get that misconduct should be punished, but feel it would be fair if they were reinstated once the issue is resolved.

The second downside is pretty minor, which is that SBI's are a slow build-up thing and only really work if you stay active. The solution to that is simple, though; stay active and accumulate SBI's ! Overall I really like the idea; I'd love to see some calculations for how many SBI's would be needed to earn a living in various countries around the world!

Thank you, @alonicus!

Even if you take a break, your balance accumulates until you next post. It is the case that HSBI are about a long-term commitment to Hive, not a bad thing in my view. There is an HSBI discord if you are anxious about any aspect - they are immensely helpful.

I'll have a look at the Discord - thank you ! I spotted about how it accumulates, I'm going to try to work out what the rate of return is on each SBI. Hopefully I'll (eventually !) be able to come up with a coherent chart of the different rates of return for curation vs HBD vs SBI vs delegation, and eventually work out what a portfolio could look like to actually make a living from Hive.....

It would be interesting to see a post about whether Hive could provide a living - especially useful to do that in a bear market.

HSBI is much more about a community approach, something like "if my neighbour is better off I will be, too" and about locking value into Hive, rather than extracting it.

Hi @bearmol, what do you think about HSBIs?

0

I don't own any HSBI but it sounds interesting. The fact that it's tied to future votes depending on how much you invest.

Who is selling these tokens @shanibeer?

0

avatar

HSBI are shares or units rather than tokens, although I think there is a plan to tokenise them in the future.

You sponsor someone by sending 1 HIVE to @steembasicincome and putting the name of the account you want to sponsor in the memo field. Both you and the account you are sponsoring get a share or unit and both of you start to get votes. Holding 1 HSBI won't bring many votes - the account only votes when you have accumulated enough balance on your shares - and the votes will be very small. But it's a great thing to build over time. You can also delegate to HSBI and receive bonus shares in return: that will lead to higher, more frequent votes.

It's a great way to grow your account by having HSBI giveaways for small contests; there's one running right now where all you have to do is comment and then see if you win the draw. It's a good way to bring new people to your account and interact with them.

It’s been 13 days since the last EDS payout. What’s up?

It looks like the account ran out of RCs half way through the pay run. An extra 500 HP has been delegated into the account to cover the run - the accounts that were missed last week will get last week's and this weeks on Monday.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

Thanks. RC’s could be delegated instead so the delegating account could keep earning curation. 😎

Congrats to the winners. Savings this week has been great adding more and more tokens for great prices as some folks are still selling great coins for cheap. Not sure how long this will go on but I am happy they are. I got a few more EDS tokens and some more LEO, and a few others as well.

I am fan of HSBI as well I have only 330 so far but I am planning to get more. Almost all I have been given as gifts so far. The benefits for me is every one of my hockey posts get upvotes from HSBI which helps me grow my Hive and HBD.

Hope you feel better soon @shanibeer

Take care all and have a great week

The answer to the question is Yes, I have HSBI. Although only a few, but they are a good complement, especially because the weight of the vote accumulates and even if you publish little, it is always an incentive to return in order to receive a great vote.
This week a small improvement and I have achieved 3.47 HBD

Hello Savers, here is my savings post https://ecency.com/hive-167922/@noctury/my-weekly-hive-progress-and-goals-15 . I really like the HSBI project and this is why i also run raffles every day where you can choose to win HSBI. I have currently ~ 200 and every week i add some more due to the raffles. I also like the aspect that it helps you and someone else.

I do have some HSBI and I gained them through my time on the chain. It's very helpful and I like it as it helps build your account long-term. I am thinking that it might be a decent way to help out others on the chain.

Hi Eddie! Hi all!

First, get well!
My report for this week: Saturday Savers Club. Week #4. Please correct the secondary goal for 7000 ALIVE, please.
I have long and painfully looked at the HSBI precisely because of all its advantages, which are attractive, and disadvantages, which scare a little.

Of course, the very idea of HSBI is grand for attracting and engaging new users who like to publish and the game of engagement. Also, the idea of giving back to HSBI by getting some of it in return is a great move! I love HSBI and am now trying to accumulate more and more of it, because I'm here for the long haul and I'm being an obedient boy here.

What scared me at first was some of the uncertain attitudes towards HSBI by some of the Hive members. As well as some scary stories from the old steem chain. Apparently that's why I've been putting this issue off. But a month ago I ran through HSBI owners and saw hundreds of reputable whales there and my fears fell away altogether.

Now I'm trying to enter every contest that includes HSBI. If I don't know of any contest, let me know about it! I've also started my own giveaway with HSBI prizes, which I'll be running on a regular basis. By the way, if anyone would like to participate, welcome! Entry is open for now: Giveaway of Gratitude. 5 HSBI.

I did a lot of manual research before I made my decision. A funny situation came to my attention. One user who had a lot of HSBI didn't post for a long time. Then a month later he wrote a post and his payout on his HSBI account was $50. HSBI accumulates the power of a vote for you even if you don't post. All you have to do is go back and write a good post!

Have a good day everyone!

I love the HSBI project too. So far I have 10 HSBI on hand. I feel that it is also a good initiative especially it can benefit not just yourself but also another fellow hiver. Also it help us build up accounts slow and steadily. Even if I get busy, it accumulates and will still help me when I post the next time. I do hope to get more of it too in the near future.

I have 15 HSBI units all from prizes in challenges and contests.

As for my goals, they are on track and I hope to achieve them before the end of the year. This is the report I did over the weekend after a few weeks without doing one;) https://peakd.com/hive-167922/@coquicoin/closer-to-my-hp-and-leo-goals-and-some-thoughts-on-delegations

I hope you are feeling better from the cold. Cheers, and enjoy the rest of the week 😊

Yes, I hold HSBI. I received some from others & I also sponsored a few, next I plan on delegating. The benefit I get is receiving a little Hive for holding as well as getting upvotes to some of my posts.

I think it a great initiative. How many places can you get upvotes & earn Hive just for holding the token. The greatest benefit to me is that you get to inspire someone else by simply sponsoring them and they get a token to increase their growth.
I'm sure there may be a downside to this, cause when there's something so good there's always at least one con, but I haven't seen or heard it yet.

My latest savings post;
https://leofinance.io/@successchar/saving-with-susie-saver-and-her-saturday-savers-club-or-not-my-best-week
As you can see, I am well pass my original goals but don't plan to set new ones until the new year.
