Hitting the road

Hey buddies. A shirt report as the country now getting back to normal, things started to pick up speed. Not only back to normal, it's double it's normal as people need to work twice harder to make up what we've post over the past year and a half.

Going to office is now back to crazy traffic. I used to spend 40 minutes travel to work before the pandemic, now it become more than an hour. One thing about eating in the car, it's not really a big problem. The trouble is when drinking coffee without a lid. I'm telling you, with the kind of stop and go traffic it's really hard to control that the coffee doesn't spill.

Net this car and saw there's a bent exhaust tip. Come to think of it, why do people like to spend money in decorating the car and make it looks fast? Isn't it better to have a car that look slow but it's actually fast? I think it so much better than lookin at a car that trying to look fast with a melted bumper and bent exhaust tip.

Took a short trip to Serendah, it's about 50km up north from Kuala Lumpur. It's a cowboy town that has very little to offer, but I promise you next time will be food review. They made some of the most epic fried noodle there.

Weather is extremely warm, the thermometer said it was 35 degree Celsius, but it feels more like 40. The car doesn't sounded right too, as if the radiator is over heating. The gauges said it was ok though, so I am not really worried.

Later drove to the AEON mall and grab a bowl of spicy and sour noodle. Dude I tell you this is the craziest kind of local Street food in a mall.

The noodle is nothing special, just a normal rice noodle. What makes it special is the soup with pineapple. And it was mixed with fermentated shrimp paste. I'm not sure how will you take it, at times I heard my kids saying it smells like dead body. Frankly, I don't know where they have the experience of smelling a deadbody. Even when my previous work sometimes I will have to walk into the morgue, but they smell like normal chicken wing, like a commercial cold storage.

Based on your description its almost the same as Penang Asam Laksa with the smell of belacan.🤔

So clever! Yes it is Penang style. If you seen D Laksa at your nearby mall, that's the shop we can put our hopes high. Taste almost as close as possible to the northern style. I still wish they out more cucumber but yeah, it is what it is.

You are brave man with that open lid. Hopefully there are no soulless humans who would see you holding coffee in their rearview mirror and give you a brake check just to see you spill some. AEON Mall, there is one in Phnom Penh, and it's opening was the most hyped thing in Cambodia for over 2 years. I always knew it was a foreign business, but I still don't know from which country.

Don't worry, by the time the car in front started moving, the coffee already finished. Traffic in Kuala Lumpur is at its own level.

AEON from Japan, previously known as JUSCO. Somehow it made its way here in Malaysia, not only taken over all the original Jusco, it has also make a joint venture BIG group, bought over majority of XTRA, MAKRO and Carrefour.

The story goes like, long long yesterday, shopping mall, umbrealla inside go.

It is better than just working at home. It is the same as in Indonesia. Traffic is jam is our stereotype , no traffic not Jakarta ..LOL

It was 10 years ago when I visited Jakarta. Friend came to hotel fetch me with his Toyota Kijang running on Bio-solar, had some good time and also took a long drive to visit a near by tangkuban. Can't remember the name, was it Tangkuban Perahu? It was a marvelous experience. Later we also headed to enjoy some very nice ayam muda.

Tangkuban Perahu is in Bandung not in Jakarta. It is a crater. There are many villas near Tangkuban Perahu today.

Hi @davidke20 ,The traffic is definitely impressive, not only in your country, it's the same as that movie of the lion king the hyenas go for the lion, so much confinement makes people go crazy to go out, I don't think everyone goes to work, they go out to buy something Well, the important thing is to be able to go out, the confinement is bad
