The theme is just for your inspiration and motivation. Of course, I will consider any photo uploaded for the contest however images matching the daily theme will have greater chance to succeed ;) Good luck!

What is Travel Photography? It is that type of the Eight Art where we capture culture, people, landscapes, objects, cityscapes, customs, traditions, events, history, etc. and we express our feeling of the time and the place we visited. We all love it, right? ;)

- Only one entry per participant
- You have exactly 24 hours to participate (entries posted after that will not be considered)
- Use ONLY your own original work, photos will be checked and plagiarism will be flagged and reported
- No NSFW images
- Adding your personal touch, a short story, the location, EXIF data, etc. is not obligatory but will definitely make your entry much more appealing and increase your chances of success ;)
- If your comment contains more than one image I will consider only the first one. You may create a separate post with your photo if you wish, of course!

St.Petersburg, Russia
Canon 5d + 16-35mm lens used.
Shot this stone stella just today in the morning, cycling to my office (you can see my bike on the background).
Located on the famouse road from St.Petersburg to Moscow - knoown as the main magistral road of the Russian empire - this sign... er... well, they were marking the distance... This one has visible numbers "11" and "13". I do not think it's kilometers; perhaps this is "versta" (an old Russian measure of length, 1 versta = 1067 meters) - to the next post station, where horses could be changed! It is pretty old, back to the 17th century.
ps. check an example of the same stone marks from Saksonia, XVIII century.
I hope I came in with an intresting fact and piece of history, exactly matching to the travel contest subject... which is more important than just a prettyface picture. If I am not correct, correct me?

well, I enjoy axeman works a lot, every now and then, nothing to compete here for me. now I am convinced its zero chances of earning any sbi units here. so i better head for it elsewhere. thank you, Damien.

Shot of the river Thames with in the background the Tower bridge lying in the sun. Photo taken with the Nikon 1J1 with the 10-30 lens mounted from the Millennium Bridge on our way to Tate Modern. We had a lot of clouds that day, giving some awesome shots, but lucky for us no rain worth mentioning.

The Disco City
Welcome to the Disco City of Dubai. Quite stunning night view of famous Dubai Marina. Perfect combination of well lightened skyscrapers and steel water on a long exposure
Even with a wide angle lens that was quite an issue to find proper distance and position...

The city of Bangkok also known as "The City of Angels" is the capital city of Thailand and it's the city that never sleeps with a population of about 12 million people and is the most vibrant city in the world i would say. I took this shot from a skyscraper rooftop bar called Eleven-Up in the mid-town of Bangkok city.
