A Sleeping Locomotive Under the Tree

Good Tuesday, tree lovers!

Here I am with another post for #treetuesday.

I found this cute little locomotive gathering dust under the shade of a tree. The scene is quite lovely but also sad. This train won't move anymore, as the railroad was decommissioned a few years back. Now it only serves as a memory of times long gone... It became a museum piece, so to speak.

The tracks by the train station were left in place as a souvenir, as well. For a few years, they were still used by what the locals called a Metro. It was a little train, really. Not a Metro by any standards. 🤭

However, even that project was abandoned. Now the station was transformed into a Bus Station and that is the only mass transportation system still running in the city.

Here's a close up shot of the old locomotive. It is very small but did its job well. The train was a good method of transportation back then.

I hope you enjoyed these shots.

By the way, what's going on in your country... are the railroads being actively maintained or are they being replaced by the bus as well? 🧐

Railroads in Slovenia are being actively maintained, but most people prefer to use their own cars, even when train ride is available.

Same thing here. I love the trains, it's the best land transportation system when one is on holidays! 😎

Okay I think I really love the end post question as I may call it. Lol. In my country, we actually have a railroad that has been replaced big time by a bus station and it baffles me to always ask why whenever I take that route but then the only answer I got was that it was abandoned by the government. In details, this means that the previous government who started off the works was no longer in seat to complete it and so when the new government came in, he refused to complete the work but focused on doing his own thing. That's just how they go about leaving uncompleted work everywhere to my disgust actually. Because it irritates my ears to hear or see such. Great post by the way! Your images are clear and awesome. !PIZZA

It looks like whenever you go... countries have the same problems. And governments are behind most of them. Sometimes I wonder if society wouldn't be better off without big governments and only with smaller, more local forms of government? 🤔

Thanks for your great comment!

Yep! You get it right! Society would be better off big time without those shitty people we call leaders or "government". They suck and dread like dirty feet.
