Today we will continue our virtual tour of St. Petersburg and plunge into the architecture of the city. Our way lies through the triumphal arch of the General Staff, on Bolshaya Morskaya Street, leading to Nevsky Prospekt.
Сегодня мы продолжим виртуальную экскурсию по Санкт-Петербургу и окунёмся головой в архитектуру города. Наш путь лежит через триумфальную арку генерального Штаба, на Большую Морскую улицу, ведущую к Невскому проспекту.
The building itself, through which the arch passes, is now a museum. Here is an exhibition from the collections of the Hermitage, which I, by the way, visited. Later I will publish a report on my impressions, and now we will just admire the elements of the building's decor that have been decorating the arch ensemble for many years.
Само здание, через которое проходит арка сегодня представляет собой музей. Здесь находится выставка из собраний Эрмитажа, которую я, кстати, посетил. Позже я опубликую отчёт о своих впечатлениях, а сейчас мы просто полюбуемся на элементы декора здания, которые уже много лет украшают ансамбль арки.
Not all the houses on this short street are museums. So in this house, for example, there are still apartments in which ordinary people live. The facade of the building is very beautiful, I wonder what the internal layout of the premises is?

An interesting building with a massive granite facade. This is the Azov-Don Commercial Bank, architect Fyodor Lidval, sculptor Vasily Kuznetsov, 1908-1909 and 1912-1913 St. Petersburg. I wonder how long it took the builders to give the solid stone all these decorative outlines.
Интересное здание с массивным гранитным фасадом. Это Азовско-Донской коммерческий банк, архитектор Фёдор Лидваль, скульптор Василий Кузнецов, 1908–1909 и 1912–1913 Санкт-Петербург. Интересно, сколко времени ушло у строителей, чтобы придать твёрдому камню все эти декоративные очертания.
There was no accurate information about some of the buildings on this street. There are several shops, cafes and tourist centers located here. And once upon a time in the past, these were tenement houses for rich visitors. perhaps hotels or just rent-a-block apartments. But we can't help but notice how beautiful all these buildings are. I, as a lover of architecture and as an artist, literally ate architecture and decor with my eyes, like a cake.
Про некоторые здания на этой улица не нашлось точной информации. Здесь расположены несколько магазинов, кафе и туристические центры. А когда-то в прошлые времена это были доходные дома для богатых посетителей. возможно, гостиницы или просто квартины под съём. Но мы не можем не заметить, насклько красивыми являются все эти здания. Я, как любитель архитектуры и как художник, буквально поедал глазами архитектуру и декор, будто торт.
