Saturday Savers Club with @susie-saver | Week 42 - Saturday 15 October 2022 | EDSMM Giveaway | Win EDS for Comments - everyone welcome

happy saturday.png

Hello Everyone,

Well, I'm a little poorly here after one of my winter vaccinations. It took me ages to work out why I was feeling so grumpy πŸ˜‚. Hope all the Saturday Savers are safe and well! 😍

EDS Mini Miner (EDSMM) - SOLD OUT

However, one holder is selling 1,300 EDSMMs at .001 HIVE above the original price (so 1.001 HIVE) if anyone wants to grow their collection a little more.

There will be a new distribution token for EDS in a few months time, so you may want to start stacking small amounts of HIVE savings in preparation for that.

Saturday Savers Club is going to be giving away EDSMMs from now until the end of the year. These are sponsored by @shanibeer. Each For your chance to win, take part in each of the contests as they come up in the Saturday Savers Post.

EDSMM Contests

Last week, the challenge was to check out the Cub Life monthly buy over on the @lbi-token and tell us your thoughts in the comments below. Can CubLife replace the sold out EDSMMs? was the question. We had seven participants and we have a winner: @jfang003 - yay! check your wallet!

There was lots of confusion about CUBLIFE (CL) which is an income token that pays out in LEO each Friday. It is operated by @silverstackeruk, the same person who operates SPI, EDS and the EDS miners and contributes to both the LBI (@lbi-token, for more information) and the SPI (@spinvest) investment funds. You can participate in the monthly buy, using either HIVE or LEO. It is not CUB or CUBfinance and doesn't involve anything complicated other than buying and holding the tokens and receiving the LEO income.

The question was really whether CUBLIFE offers an alternative to EDSMMs to people who want to save small amounts regularly, now that EDSMMs had sold out. One question was about how many people in the savings club hold CUBLIFE - here's the richlist.

Remember this idea, to to upvote each other's savings posts (I would add to make sure you upvote the Saturday Savers Club post, too) and leave a little comment, that's always motivating!

THIS WEEK'S CONTEST

This week, the challenge is about delegating HIVE POWER. What is the benefit of delegating? Who would you (or do you) delegate to and why? Can delegations help to achieve savings goals? Do you delegate other tokens? Lots to talk about there. Let's hear your views in the comments.

The small print: What do you think about a savings quiz for the end of the year? Prizes, of course πŸ˜‰

Saturday Savers Club Discord Chat

Join us for chat about savings and investments: https://discord.gg/RQZubGeeTH

Ground Rules:

  • The SPI family motto is Get Rich Slowly. This covers EDS, EDSM and EDSMM, the home tokens for the Saturday Savers Club, as well as SPI, LBI and CL. The bottom line is that we are looking for well-researched options which bring a steady income. Good options will have an identifiable and easily accessible team (with emphasis on more than one person involved), a clear plan and use case for the token, and transparency and accountability through regular reporting.
  • Individual members are free (of course they are) to publish guides to tokens under their own account - and any number of members can do that.

LARYNX and RAGNAROK - Have You Claimed Your Airdrops?

EDS and EDSM Queries

The quickest way to get any queries about payments resolved is to post a message in the #eddie-earner channel of the SPinvest discord: https://discord.gg/RQZubGeeTH and tag @silverstackeruk. Most problems that happen are technical bugs and are quickly resolved once we know about them. Housekeeping for @eddie-earner, EDS, EDSM and EDSMM is usually done on Monday UTC.

365 Day Savings Challenge

It's Week 42 on our savings plan and we've added and powered up 19.95 HIVE to @susie-savers wallet - we're up to 416.16 HIVE already plus curation rewards! Watch these numbers grow as we come into the home stretch!πŸ€‘

EDS for Comments

We had comments from eighteen savers! Everyone went into the Wheel of Names and we have two winners: @ericburgoyne and @hoosie - hurrah! check your wallets.

Savings Goals

We've added some more savings goals and savings posts to the table. Leave a comment below with a link if you've done a savings post or settled on your savings goals for this year - it can take a while to decide your aims, so take your time and let us know when you're ready 😍

I had a very good week. I broke the 2000 HP barrier, and its also LPUD today !! Heres my full post:

https://leofinance.io/@hoosie/saturday-savers-club-progress-week-30-15-10-22-broke-the-2000-hp-barrier-now-generating-200-leo-month-nice-woo-income-and-its

In terms of HP delegation I have 1511 HP delegated to @leo.voter (thats three quarters of my HP). Leo.voter pays out daily LEO rewards and I've been using that to attain my goal of being able to contribute to LPUD each month (today !) without having to buy from the market ! Its really helped to propel my LEO stack forward !

Many thanks @hoosie

Congrats @hoosie ! I guess i should also start at some point to delegate to leo.voter, but first i need to get more HP :D !LUV

Thanks for sharing your progress report. I took a look and can see that your detailed inventory and explanations for all your savings and investment objectives are clearly set out.

I too delegate to numerous projects and enjoy passive income.

Take care.

I have added 30 HP from the start of this month and counting, powering up 2HP per day 😊

What is the benefit of delegating?
Well for me, delegating can help us earn rewards and interest from those we delegated. It may be small, but can be big if accumulated over time.

Who would you (or do you) delegate to and why?
Some of the accounts I delegated were ocdb, hiveph, and leo.voter because these are giving daily interest depending on the amount I delegated. I am actually planning to delegate to another curating team as I might get rewards from them too.

Can delegations help to achieve savings goals?
For me, yes. As mentioned above, if those small interests are accumulated over time, they become big. The longer we delegate them, and the higher amount we send, the higher the return interest which could help us easily achieve our saving goals.

Do you delegate other tokens?
I actually don't know that we can delegate other tokens. So no.

Happy weekend and happy savings 😊

Hey I wrote another update, it's getting out of hand! ;) https://peakd.com/hive-167922/@phoenixwren/saturday-savers-club-progress-15-oct-2022

Re: delegating, I delegated a small amount to @dustbunny years ago and still do, and a little bit to my alt since the account is small, but otherwise I like to drop at least semi-decent upvotes with what little HP I have, since I curate manually, so I don't delegate more than that. I might delegate other tokens, but I don't know what accounts are good to donate what token to, so I haven't? If anyone has suggestions on that score, I'd do that for at least some of them, especially tokens where I'm not very active in that community.

Also, if I haven't said it before, I say yes to a savings quiz! ;)

I forgot to get myself into the last round's question about the CL token. I've actually been slowly and steadily acquiring CL, SPI, and LBI, along with the EDSMM.

Now on to the question about delegating HP and Hive-Engine tokens. This is a major component of building my Hive Passive Income Machine, along with acquiring as many of the income tokens (dividend-paying and miner tokens) as I'm able.

While I only recently began to delegate HP, I've been continuously delegating and re-delegating the payouts to various Hive-Engine curation accounts, mostly by the Cartel and LOLZ teams, along with a handful of others, for many months now. As opposed to listing every account to which I delegate H-E tokens, I'll link to my last Monday Weekly Hive Goals and Progress Update, where I list the multitudinous curation accounts to which I delegate, and the amounts delegated as of last Monday. As I keep delegating and re-delegating, my income of these various H-E tokens is steadily growing.

Presently I delegate HP to @ecency and via @dlease (two leases are presently active), and I use the daily HIVE payouts to buy more income tokens. In this manner, I am growing my holdings of these various income tokens every day, which I love! My Hive Passive Income Machine is coming together very nicely indeed!

Thanks for the win! This week as always been buying good tokens when folks are selling for less than they are worth. So I am meeting my savings goal.

I have to put out another goals post as that has changed quite a bit since I put the last one out.

Have a great week all.

I am wondering about that rich list for CL I use the one from leo bex which is right and the one you are using is wrong. The reason I know that is I should be right below you on that list yet I do not show on that list at all.

Well I delegate Hive power to earn Leo everyday, that way I earn Leo and do not have to buy it, which helps out so I can get more tokens that I want.

I also have delegated some Hive power so I get a daily return of Hive daily Hive payment.

So that is the 2 ways you can make some return on your excess Hive power.

The problem with rich lists is different places calculate them differently.
To me liquid plus staked should be your total for a rich list.
Some only count liquid. Some deduct staked from liquid to end up with a negative total and some do it right.

I hope you are feeling better, was that from the lastest Covid booster?

Happy #lpud I just did my lpud post and crossed the 2k LP threshold so I am now a proud newborn cub 🦁

I would love a savings quiz and I love to delegate HP, funnily enough I have a post in the wroks about delegation. Perhaps I will publish it this week.
My HP delegations are / were more focused on achieving Leo. Now that I hit that 2k I might switch to gaining Hive delegations... Decisions decisons!

In the meantime here is my lpud post

Hello @shanibeer
I'm not sure why but I have some difficulty imagining you being grumpy but I hope you'll feel better soon.

I currently delegate hive power to @tipu which provides a daily payout in hive.

I also delegate to the ALIVE community to increase my ALIVE tokens so that I could start tipping with them. I'm able to give out 10 tokens daily after accumilating 1500 ALIVE.

This week I'm at 1383HP on my way to 1500HP. I was also able to surpass my commenting goal of 50 comments this week. You can find this week's report here. https://peakd.com/hive-167922/@bearmol/performance-report-week-42-or-ten-weeks-remaining

I've done my weekly post - https://leofinance.io/@alonicus/saturdaysavers-club-progress-week-14-42

I'm getting quite good at doing this every week now - thank you for giving me some badly-needed discipline 😁

In terms of the contest, my answers are pretty simple; I delegate about 30% of my Hive Power. The rest I keep in order to have a noticeable (if small !) upvote value, which in turn contributes to curation rewards.

Of the HP I delegate, 400 is to @leo.voter to have a continuous trickle into my LEO stack. Another 200 is delegated to help new and active members in an informal community I'm part of.

I also delegate quite a lot of my assorted tribe token dust to LOLZ.

Something I'm curious about, and someone here might be able to help me; is there anywhere worthwhile to delegate Leo Power to ? With about 1300 LEO, my upvote is basically almost worthless within LeoFinance right now, so I'm wondering if there's anything to delegate to that pays out in LEO to help build the stack ? Or would I get a better return from direct curation rewards ?

Oh, and an end of year quiz - yes please ! That sounds like a lot of fun πŸ˜€ All I'd ask is that if at all possible it's run over two or three days. It's both my busiest time at work and one with lots of family stuff I get dragged to....

I delegate my LEO POWER to @meowcurator. I haven't checked the sums for a while but it was paying 16%. I'm not very active in Leofinance so it was an easy way to build my LEO. It seemed to take ages to get to my target of 5,000, but since reaching that, my LEO seems to be accumulating very quickly!

Thank you ! I'll delegate some of it and see if I can work out whether it increases or decreases earnings. Most of my activity has been in creative writing communities, although I've been doing a bit more on Leo recently. It'll be an interesting experiment πŸ˜€

Thanks for that tip! I just delegated some of my small amount of Leo to them. I didn't know what account was a good one to delegate to, either! Perhaps we could do a post that is all about recommendations of where to delegate various tokens to?

Thanks for the EDSMM.

As for HP delegation, it's good if there is a project you want to support for tokens back. If you aren't very active, then delegating it out and getting a return is better than not doing so. I don't delegate a lot of tokens but I am thinking about delegating out tribe tokens because I am active on LEO but not the rest of the communities as much.

Welcome @stdd 😍

I'll add your goals to the chart next week!

Thanks for your support!

What is the benefit of delegating? Who would you (or do you) delegate to and why? Can delegations help to achieve savings goals? Do you delegate other tokens?

The main advantage of delegation is that it saves curation time if you can't pay enough attention to your account. It turns out that you are giving your power away instead of losing profits every day. Second, if your curation percentage is below 10%, then again it's more profitable to delegate to those who pay you that 10%. From small amounts it may seem like pennies, but from a distance the amounts are quite large. We are the Savers Club!

I've chosen my strategy of delegating no more than 30% HP to curate by myself and at the same time support the projects I love. By the way, the next delegation will be to you. It's small for now, but it will grow over time.

Yes, I also delegate other second layer tokens to keep them running all the time. If you don't have a separate account for each token, you are essentially losing money if you don't delegate. If you have an account for each token, you're losing curation time. πŸ˜… Only if you don't use the curation trail... But there are nuances, downtime, and losses there too.

I forgot what else is important, when you delegate HP, you get a liquid Hive back instead of HP, meaning you save time on Power Down and always have the flexibility to run your portfolio. It's also psychologically very satisfying to see Hive payout messages every day or every week. It motivates you to move faster and further!

Thanks for bringing the contest to my attention, I missed it yesterday in a hurry. Had to run to work.... πŸ˜…

Sharing some updates:
I have managed to come to 545 HP this week. Delta to goal: 232 HP. Glad with my progress so far.

What is the benefit of delegating?
Delegating HP helps to gather some passive income as per what I've seen some people done so far.

Who would you (or do you) delegate to and why?
I saw a few but not sure how it payouts to. If you've got any good ones to share, I am all ears to know.

Can delegations help to achieve savings goals? Do you delegate other tokens?
I believe it will, especially if it gathers hive in a passive manner for those whom do not actively do curation. Delegate tokens yes, it also yield more tokens are subsequently be reinvested into HP or even HBD.

Hi, there
I'm late to join the conversation this week. But I did do a little report on my progress this week on my savings goals and my participation in the LPUD.
https://leofinance.io/@coquicoin/lpud-and-a-quick-review-of-my-savings-goals

Regarding this week's questions. Delegating is beneficial because it allows us to earn some passive income which of course helps us achieve our savings goals. The accounts I have delegated so far for passive income are ocdb, leo.voter, and ecency. But I have also delegated other tokens, I have Leo delegations and I have delegated some other layer 2 tokens like cent, alive, and neoxag to get LOLZ tokens daily rewards.

Have a great week :)

Congratulations to the winners. I think it's a good idea to publish other community reports, I'll start doing it.
To delegate or not to delegate? Well, I don't know what to answer. I'm still too young to consider it, but when I grow up I'll delegate those projects that I like and that benefit the chain's ecosystem.
My week was not bad 21 HP but I must try to improve my performance if I want to achieve the updated goal. The Leoball raffle continues to grow day by day 1000 Leo in a pot is not bad.
