Omaigard - Omega Pork Noodle

Hello lads! It's me again. Been awhile since I write a proper article, as I've recently spend more time in playing retro games than writing articles. However, it's going to change. This morning, we went to the near by noodle shop(not exactly near, still need to pay for tool charges to get there), and I just cant help it but to write this article to show you this amazing noodle shop!

I'm just going to change the layout a little today, since I'm afraid if I will forget to leave you the detail, so here's the deal. It's located at Kota Damansara in Petaling Jaya, slightly North of Kuala Lumpur if you must know. Below are the contact detail and information needed.

Let's jump straight to the environment of the shop. It's marvelously clean, air conditioned, and very comfortable. You'll probably not expecting to eat pork noodle in an air conditioned shop, as usually people claimed to eat old school style pork noodle to get the real taste, let me quickly take you to their main dish now!

Here's why the shop name OMEGA, that's because they claimed to use pigs which is fed with top grade food and properly nurtured, which makes their pork high in omega and slightly healthier than normal pork. To me, food is food. The moment you ate it, whether your body will absorb it, process it is an entirely different story. My ex-girlfriend eat as much as I do, I didn't see her grow fat. Our daughter ate double of my portion, and she's still half of my size. So, I don't really believe in all that health talk, but what I noticed from the pork, it's chewey but not hard, tender but not falling apart. The soup has a little spicy wchih I can taste generally from black pepper. The fragrant of pig fat, makes it stands out and you just can't resist how crazy it taste like, making you keep wanting to drink more!

All these side dishes are cooked and some of them are half cooked, properly displayed at the kitchen cabinet so customers able to see it for themselves, and order from them.

The fried wanton dumpling on the left, is a little over rated in my opinion. It's not bad, but wasn't as good as I would expect it to be. However, the less appealing fish cake on the right, is surprisingly good. It has a little sweetness from the fish paste, feels like eating fish. I'm sure they have blend with pork in it to fill in the gap.

The one above is another type of fish cake, made generally out of fish and flour. I had better ones from a famous Ipoh Road restaurant. But the one at the bottom is called "lobak", "lo" meaning simmer, "bak" meaning meat. The Chinese hokkien use the simmered meat, chopped them together and wrapped them with soy paste slice like a spring roll, and then fry them to make this. If you know how to enjoy this, you can have a bowl of rice to go down with this alone. It's tasty and could help you get pass the month end budget. But again, we're here to enjoy, so just bite it!

Drinks are batch prepared at the cocktail counter. I enjoyed to see this kind of setup because it makes the entire experience feels like going for hotel buffet.

Once again, I would like to emphasize, it's not the best pork noodle I had in my life, but for the environment, for the price to pay, for the AC, for the friendly staff, it's worth every dollar I spent here. It's probably the only place that allow you to taste traditional Chinese food in a cafe style environment.

The noodles look good. I'll pass on the dumplings. Things are getting pretty serious in Korea. I think buffet restaurants will have to close this week and next week.
