Been a Student and Working At the Same Time Has it's Ups and Downs.

Due to the class of family I am from, knowing the situation of things at home and beening the first born out of a family of 7 (5-boys, then Dad and Mum). All this amount having to wake up and arise to the demands that comes with it.
So when I gained admission into Federal University of Ilorin, Ilorin Kwara State in the year 2008, I know I couldn't rely on what they will give me from home, I had to find a means of supplementing it.

On rounding up the Screening Processes for new intake into the University, I started out to some findings as touching work opportunities available to a student on Campus. I found a couple of them but the one that's ok and pays a bit well was serving as an attendant at Lagos Hostel Supermarket. I was able to fix mineself as a Permanent Afternoon Staff between the time of ,12:00am and 4:00pm, since all mine Classes were either slated for morning or evenings.

At first it was going on smoothly for the first two months, but as it is generally known with Nigeria Institutions Fixing of Lectures sets in and it starts complicting with mine Classes. Atimes I had to skip some of the classes fixed for afternoon in order to be at work, because if I don't show up at work deductions will be made on mine salary at then end of the month.

In the second semester of my year two in school, I had to do away with part-time work and face mine academic squarely. My GP (grade point is not encouraging, so I had to lett go of the hostel work and concentrate on lectures among other Academic works.

But during a chi-chat time with Oginni Oluwaseun a final year student in mine department then, I got to ask him things I could do along with mine schooling that will bring me money. He was the one that open mine eye to Computer works, **Typing, Photocopying and Project Works for mine colleagues institutions, it sound so simple to me but when he told me the amount he makes monthly from doing those I set mine heart out to give it a trier.

Oginni having rounded up his year in the institution and going for Nigeria Youth Service Corp (NYSC) sold me his Laptop, Photocopying Machines, a Binding Machine among other things at a give away price, I contacted an Uncle in abuja who raise msot of the fund for me and I added mine savings to sum it up.

That was how I started, mine hostel room became but a shop and a sleeping place, I was able to blend in mine lectures with work because I am the sole proprietorship of it. By the time I was rounding up at the University and going for mine NYSC, I already had two shops and employrd personell to man it for me while I am away.

Thanks.

@Seunny

These merging of study and school is not a child play at all, I really celebrate your commitment in not being dependent on your parents for all your needs.
