One Veggie at a Time, Straight to the Table: Got the Opportunity to Harvest the First Sprout of Mama's Eggplant

The first fruit is kinda special so I took my time watching it grow and documented it by snapping photos of its progress. It's really fun because I am looking forward for it every day and it's really amazing how fast it progress.
So, i'm talking about the eggplant which Mama planted after buying a seedlings of it in the tiangge-an. Fortunately, two seedlings survive although one is just kinda late even though they were planted at the same time. But I guess the problem with that late bloomer is the soil. And so, Mama move it next to the other one which is really a good move.
This is my last update about the eggplants in our garden. It is also a documentation of its first buds, I even included my Basteng there ( /^ω^)/♪♪

Now, this was taken on March 7, it finally had its first fruit, our first eggplant. You can see that purple and tiny eggplant there right? And it is still continuosly blooming, I found more baby buds in there actually

Days later, or March 9, it if finally this big -that fast! We're not complaining though lol. See those tiny baby buds? Gosh, Mama is really happy, haha

Then next day, March 10, it is this long already. Like the weather this time around is cold, though there are times that its a bit Sunny too. But I think weather really helps and Mama often attend to them of course. Watering them, and removing any anta or whatever on its leaves. See, that's why I check the eggplant even just after one day, its because I saw Mama here haha

And then on March 12, it's much bigger now, same size with my index finger. And the tiny buds also has started to bloom. They are so pretty, huhu

So let's jump to March 15, theybare beautifully longer now, hehe. Mama's love and care for it really paid off coz it give us a good produce. UwU

March 17, it is not a finger sized but two fingers, and its cool! The harvest time will soon come. On the other hand, the other eggplant tree is also doing fine next to to the big one. It started to have its first bud and then bloom. It is smaller than the first one but maybe it is on its genes? Hahaha. Maybe this two are not relatives? Hahaha. Lol

And so finally, March 18, Mama and Mommy F birthday -we finally harvested it. Me, i'm the one who did it. Hehe.

Fresh and newly harvest eggplant, its big, has the right thickness and just \(^o^)/. You can see how much care and love we put in there right? I mean, just Mama, I only watch her do her things in the garden, haha why I am getting credits for it right? Lol

Anyways, I just noticed one thing in the eggplant though, like, WHAT ARE THESE? Is this a pest that can only find in eggplant? Or something? I noticed that theres a lot of them in its body. So to make sure that it will die, I soaked it in a water with a salt.

Later on, Mama made a Tortang Talong using it -for lunch. It has a lot of tomato too. With all the other ingredients put in it, it becomes bigger and I think if its me I can eat it in two meal. Such a huge save and we got the eggplant for free. After this harvest, Mama harvested two more and it still has a lot of flowers. The other tree in the other hand has now one fruit in it. Surely, Mama can harvest it too, SOON.
And that's all. So what are you all waiting for guys? You better start digging in your yard now and plant whatever you want. Waiting for the harvest time is really exciting and fun \(^o^)/

Woah it grew that much in 3 days??? It's amazing haha and the torta looks so good and fresh. I never had one in a long time cos I don't know how to cook it lol.
I think those white ones are mealybugs. I had peppers before and I would see them there. From my research, the ladybugs eat them but I'm not really sure how bad they are for the plant or for us. It's a strong indicator I guess that the plant is healthy and has no pesticides. :D
Yep, haha, it's actually really cool no haha. Guess mom's care in it gave us that amazing result hehe. You should try making one, it only has few ingredients roo
Ohhh, now, I know, thanks for the infor. This is my first time hearing the name and they can go bigger pala, as I see it on a photo in google. Its sad I didn't see them on their bigger side 😭. Yep really healthy but mama didn't see any "thing" inside too. Luckyyyy.
I think it's the part where you have to grill the eggplant that kinda makes me feel it's too much to do hahaha. But I really like the taste because of it.
I used to be so disgusted about worms in my veggies but nowadays when I see one from a lettuce, I know it is better since guaranteed organic. But bigger mealybugs look kinda scary tho hahah
Oh yes, that, the smoky flavor of it right. I sometimes just put the eggplant on top of the pa in-in na sinaing then use it in torta. But sometimes I grill it in the kalan nalang using gasul haha.
Same hereeee, like, if there's a hole, parang, you'll think twice or more whether to eat it or not. I do that with sweet potato leaves that I bought in the market haha. I think I saw one again, but really bigger and weird looking too. This times its in the sweet potato leaves aguy
Wow sarap naman ng tortang talong paborito po yan namin,, sarap din sa prito yan hmmmmmmm yum yum..
Its really so masarap, the best talaga torta with tomatoes hehe
Totoo po masarap talaga
Summer is truly the eggplant season.
Growing your own is truly rewarding specially during the harvest time.

Your mom's garden is very healthy, can't wait to see so more abundant harvest soon!🥰
Ohhh, and that's maybe why they also grow wonderfully this time hehe. Thats so true, it is when you harvest it that you'll feel rewarded, putting it on the table is another achievement hehe. Have u already tried this kind of torta?

Haha awan ko ga kay mama, excited. Sabi nya kasi baka gumulang daw, something like dat.
I love plants. I just harvested my Okra and Manlunggay. I also planted an eggplant, but the worms ate all the leaves. Your eggplants are healthy. It's satisfying to harvest our plants.
Ohhh, Okra, a very good veggies. We have it too but they are always bald, lioe no leaves anymore haha. And its true that harvesting it is always satisfying.
I think it's a smart move to bald okras because worms love to dwell on their leaves. Haha

That eggplants are looking healthy! What a blessing it is to be able to plant vegetables and serve it on the table afterwards. I wish we have some space for planting, unfortunately we don't have. :(
Aww, that's sad, how about planting it in the a pot then put it somewhere inside the house? Like a decorations hehe
Yes, we have indoor plants. :)
