Bluebells, Cockle Shells... Does Anybody Really Know?

(Edited)

The petals of my soul burst forth in bloom, for there is no other meaning to a flower than to show its sunshine. I spent some time today, nature and I, making my day rather special. Flowers were an easy pick because they create so much joy and happiness. A rose is soft, smells sweet, and is a symbol of love, kindness, and friendship. They will be coming up shortly and I look forward to them. Look around this world and develop your sense of appreciation for the joyful sights around you. Right now, there are bluebells in the woods, the neighborhood is filled with the laughter of children, the beach has the sound of the waves rolling in... and on and on...Life. I take the small pieces of joy and hold them close to my heart. Here, take a flower.

The unusual has happened in every way that it can this year. Snow in the middle of our almost summer weather, no snow all winter, a freak stom that lateed less than a minute, while we were having a warm day. What is up, Mother Nature? It sounds like you may be having hot flashes? Let's get over that! Oh, the bluebells have arrived! Over the river and through the woods. Reminds me of a Christmas song.

The complexities of life...
It is never as hard as it seems
Nor as easy as it should be
Cover me with a blanket of your memory
Where your name is engraved on my soul
Whisper softly into the wind
Caressed by morning light
Let's just have that today

Blossoms are out in some places and gone in others. The soft-focus image of pale pink cherry blossoms lifts anyone's spirit - How could it not? It was raining cherry blossoms on my street today.

Every day is a gift and I don't intend to waste not even one of them. My thoughts are colored throughout by a love of life and the personal joy it gives me. The smallest of pleasures, self-satisfying moments.

All I have are my words, armed in my mind, written in pen, stand by stand. Oh, yes. Still by hand. It has a different feel. Altered not by keys, backspace, and delete, I write, erase, tear it to pieces and start all over again. And again.

It’s my way. I walk out to the deep end of the page and dive right in.

Japanese Maple, showing off her colors. Seems they always have something going on with their leaves. That is probably why I love them so. Always a new look, just like the star that she is.

Lines Written in Early Sproing

I heard a thousand blended notes,
While in a grove I sate reclined,
In that sweet mood when pleasant thoughts
Bring sad thoughts to the mind.

To her fair works did Nature link
The human soul that through me ran;
And much it grieved my heart to think
What man has made of man.

Through primrose tufts, in that green bower,
The periwinkle trailed its wreaths;
And ’tis my faith that every flower
Enjoys the air it breathes.

The birds around me hopped and played,
Their thoughts I cannot measure:—
But the least motion which they made
It seemed a thrill of pleasure.

The budding twigs spread out their fan,
To catch the breezy air;
And I must think, do all I can,
That there was pleasure there.

If this belief from heaven be sent,
If such be Nature’s holy plan,
Have I not reason to lament
What man has made of man?

How lucky!!! I love bluebells and just went out this morning to the river in the woods, where the bluebells live. (near my house anyway) Bluebells are a symbol of spring here and they are abundant when the time comes. I wish they lasted longer. We have not had a real winter this year and we got a snow day over a week ago after all the cherries were starting to bloom and the flowers were beautiful! Then three days of the coldest weather we have had all season!!!! Can you believe that? At the very end of March have snow and the coldest temperatures.

It is over now and life has proceeded forward, even if the Cherry Festival was maimed a bit by it. All is well again. :)

I hope you are having a wonderful day!

Haha! Oh, I do love my New Zealand lamb chops. They make them the best! However, the US is starting to do pretty well in that department, although they are more aged than necessary.

Love the bluebells too. :)

Good morning from here, Mick! @stresskiller

Carpet of blue beneath your feet in wooded area pleasant to witness like eye candy. Pink cherry blossoms above beauties in nature popping for pleasure or does those bear fruit?

Sounds like Spring has most definitely arrived bringing change of season in an ever dramatic way.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Every day is a gift and I don't intend to waste not even one of them. My thoughts are colored throughout by a love of life and the personal joy it gives me. The smallest of pleasures, self-satisfying moments — to wake up and witness each day as it comes by is such an indispensable gift honestly which makes gratitude a must each time to the source that creates life . Indepth, imminent and uttermost joy for ourselves should come from within because at the end of it all no one got you except you . Best Regards!!

Bluebells in the wood always makes me long for England. I'm trying to slowly add more of them to our tiny woodland each autumn with bulbs. Happy #Sublimesunday @dswigle

That is so cool, Donna! @donnadavisart I put daffodils at the edge of the woods every autumn! The woods come alive with our extra help and spread effortlessly throughout.

Birds of a feather!

Now, can I have some of your artistic qqualities? Happy #BeautifulSunday! Sublimely so!

I really misread your title to this post at first. "Did she really go there?" I asked myself.

It's so close to spring. My redbud is redbudding and my sproutlets are sprouting, though they're still in the basement under the loving gaze of UV lights.

I've realised that I have no flowers amidst all my veggie seedlings. Maybe I ought to buy a flower.

Haha! NO! She didn't go there. Was there any doubt?

It truly is spring. I believe that little glitch we had (the one that ruined one of my cherry trees for the season - along with my Bradford pear) -was just a mistaken identity. It didn't mean to come here and ruin my spring. We had to dial it all back (although somehow the redbud survived!) and no UV is on anymore. Just three days' worth.

No flowers? That is just blasphemous. You know that, right?

Hi, Victor! I hope you have a #beautifulsunday! What are we having for dinner tonight?

No flowers? That is just blasphemous. You know that, right?

Yes, I am aware. I might do something to fix that this year. Maybe I'll plan some sunflowers!

Dinner tonight was homemade hamburger helper with a store bought cherry cheesecake for desert. Yum!

Mother Nature is trying to get her spring clothes on, but it seems she may be a little confused. I guess that is normal for as old as she is. LOL

The yellow bells and most of the bradford pear blooms have disappeared and have been replaced with fresh green leaves. They stand out amongst the other hardwood trees that still appear bare from any distance. Fortunately the redbuds, dogwoods and other blooms trees are starting to show out to take their place. The azaleas will soon be popping out all over too. I notice in the last couple of days, the buds are now showing color.

The tulips and daffodils and similar type bulbs are still happy here too for a while longer.

It's a bright and cheery Sunday and life is good.

It is a cherry day! I got some new pictures of the bluebells this morning. They are still around, although this is round 2. Their blooming was interrupted by the three-day freeze.

Everything seems a little ahead of schedule now, whereas, it seemed a little behind despite the warm winter. The azaleas are puffy buds, but, the Lavender Rhododendron Shrubs in my yard has been done for about a week or so. They were really pretty this year - and the Camellias are just finishing up. I have tons of them at the Shore.

I love this time of year. It is so beautiful, everywhere you look!

Le sigh.

It did seem like things were late, according to some photos I had from other years, yet I didn't remember the yellow bells and B-pears being spent before the rest of the blooming trees showed out. Maybe my memory is playing tricks on me .... or maybe this year is a little odder than before.

My Mom's camellias are full of buds and some wide open blooms. I'm thinking hers will be a round for a while. She had a vase of them on her table last night. Somehow I don't have a photo of them ! What is wrong with me ??? LOL..... but they were certainly beautiful..

They always are! Mine will probably last for another two or three weeks and you are right because they seem to last forever. Yellow bells and Bradford pear went with the three days of freezing for me. They didn't die out right but they didn't last and never even finished blooming. It has been the strangest year. My Bradford Pear lasts at least a month and it was only 10 days or so and then it went away.

What was kind of funny here, is that there is a row of B-Pears across the back of my yard. They seemed to bloom late and of course, once open, all these crazy windy days blew most of their white petals off immediately, causing it too look like it was snowing every day till they were quickly gone.... however.... The one younger tree at the road in my front yard, bloomed later than the ones in back and still has blooms on it ! What ?? I don't get it.

Crazy, isn't it? I have to agree. One of my cherry trees did the same, the late bloomer (bloomed) early and the early bloomer didn't bloom yet. What? The one that bloomed, the flowers froze and now they are a little dead looking, they didn't even get to snow.

All this crazy stuff has me worried that we have finally annoyed Mother Nature enough.

Maybe she just doesn't want to be viewed as a predictable woman.... or maybe it's dementia ! That made me kind of laugh to type that.
