Hive Open Mic #135 - Imagine (John Lennon)
For this weeks theme "Fight Oppression" I thought I'd give Imagine another try;
You all know the keys are still fairly new to me, so bear with me.. 😄
For me this song by the advocate of peace and love had to be the one!
John Lennon recorded his song in 1971 when the Hippie Movement was at its height and the Vietnam War was going on for four more years.
Protest songs were everywhere and before this one he himself had recorded another one, "Give Peace a Chance" in 1969.
Both songs send out strong messages that it's all in our own hands to change the world for the better.
I would still like to think that that is possible...
I am glad to be part of this community that strives to do just that: Promote peace!
