Topic Of Discussion - Compulsory Covid Vaccination In Nigeria.
Few months ago,Before the sports festival in Edo state, After preparing hard to play chess,I was informed that all athletes must be vaccinated in order to participate! Me wey hear say vaccine go kill person after 20 years time. And I wanted to play because i really loved chess. Long story short, i got vaccinated! However, On getting to the venue, i discovered alot of people didn't but forged their certificate.

First of all, it is important to state that corona affected me a lot both mentally and in general because hearing about the cases got me scared and I lost a lot of scholarships and jobs due to the lockdown but the vaccine still scares me.
The main reason is because I feel like there wasn't enough research done and with different variants coming out which would still affect the vaccinated people, you've got to ask yourself what is the point of taking the vaccine.
Secondly, as a woman, I have heard that the vaccine could affect childbearing which I don't know how factual this is but I wouldn't want to take my chances.
Now don't get me wrong, I would probably take the vaccine if it meant leaving the country or getting a well-paying job but for now I would be waiting to see how it goes.
It is also suspicious that Nigeria is forcing people to take the vaccine because Nigeria never does anything without a motive so I am a bit alarmed by it.
In the end, if I have to be forced to take the vaccine because of Nigeria then I would straight-up fake it and I know I wouldn't get caught because of how incompetent people are in this country.

I understand your point, but seem their are a lot of conspiracy theory out there. This childbearing one is really outrageous tbh, but your fears are well justified.
Its easy as getting verified information about the vaccine. Ask your family doctor or any health care professional you know. If you do your bit, you would be surprised how much you will learn.

Well this vaccination of a thing, whether to be vaccinated or not. Yes as a kid we received a lot of vaccination as a kid and never know what it was made of, but the assurance it won't give the body effect was 100% valid.
But in the case of corona what gave people double mindset towards vaccination was the try and error the researchers had made towards getting the real content to fight the virus.. Alot of country came up with their own tests and result some where not valid, the point is that I myself don't trust the vaccination process cause there was no 100% guarantee from the medical researchers everybodys taught and all..
But am not against vaccination if you are convinced to take it ,take it.
But am yet to be convinced...

I think the issue is the myth that surrounds this vaccine of a thing.
Even before covid came, people have been very reluctant towards taking vaccines - polio, chicken pox and the likes.
I think what we should address are the various myths surrounding vaccinations itself.
I'm yet to collect the vaccine due to my busy schedule(not on excuse tho), but I'll definitely find time to do it.
Getting vaccinated is not actually the problem but the long term side effects of it. Even scientists aren't sure of it. The rush approach to this vaccination is of a big concern to many people. If it's made compulsory, I think there will be a lot of dramas. As for me I am not in support of making it compulsory. Let those that want it willingly get. Making it conditional for job offer or to remain at work place will be a violation of People's right and coercing people against their will. We need proactive action than passive action. Thorough checking of people on arrival at the airport, quarantine, travel restriction from dangerous zone and proper record will help reduce the spread. Let support the government effort to reduce the spread by keeping social distancing and wearing our face mask.

What I feel is that somewhere under there is someone cashing out on all this.
But there is nothing in it for me.
We all probably have at least 8 to 10 vaccines running in our bodies, thats if you were vaccinated as a baby..lol.

What scares me a little are the bad stories I hear about vaccines.
But since leaving this country requires taking it...and others have left the country after taking them...I'll be good...its just fear that's all
Good morning everyone, I've been sleeping since and finally decided to wake up.
I haven't actually been vaccinated yet, first for fear because I've been hearing a lot of rumors and conspiracy theories regarding the vaccine, then also I haven't really actually put much thought into the the whole vaccination thing.
If it gets compulsory, it depends on the level, if it's for something really important that I need to do to move my life forward then I'll surely get vaccinated even if I know it's going to be with my half mind I'll be doing it.
I've never really been good at forgery, truth be told, I don't like it because I feel that you'll get exposed eventually and when that time comes it'll be too embarrassing, so I'll jéjéli just avoid it

First of all, what is good shouldn't ve be forced. There are some really harsh controversies going on because of the Covid vaccine. A woman was refused treatment of a very ugly disease because she refused the vaccine. What do you call that?
I'm not tryna be religious or anything but Genetic Mutation is real. I don't see how a vaccine comes out not up to two year after a pandemic without trials or even guarantee. I would never take that vaccine. Because I would not die.

II've not been vaccinated, and I don't have the plan to, though I haven't seen a anyone with a forged certificate yet but I know the typical part of Nigerians will surely forged the certificate. 😅🤣😂

Cause I vividly remember, we were on ASUU strike as of that time and then the strike took so long
And as a young man that I was, I was trying to make money before the end of the lockdown, so I started taking home lessons for kids around my premises😂
Eventually I was taking lots and lots of kids home lesson and then I had no reason to feel the impact of the lockdown
At some points where I was tired of making the little amount I was earning from being a home lesson tutor, I started forex and was working with an investment company , where I needed traveling and speaking with clients over the country
Na that time gan gan I come feel the lockdown, Because you need to do put some stuffs in place even for interstate travels, and as a Nigerian that the idea of vaccine was spoilt for us.
There was a time I needed to travel to abuja with a plane, Na so them say make we do vaccine oo😢…
And at the point I had no choice but to take it

Well taking the vaccine remains a thing of choice until your organization or work place etc makes it compulsory for their members. From
What I have seen and heard the vaccine isn’t killing anyone soon at least in my family of 7 I am the only one left who hasn’t taken it .. but the rest of them did not have any negative report about it. I highly recommend you speak with your doctor first before taking it because I hear it shouldn’t be taken if a person has any pending illness. So always consult your doctor.
As for the forgery well it’s for their own good if they had just taken it like @samostically but you can’t take the wayo out of Nigerians . Even when it’s not called for a Nigerian man wj Always want to play smart.
