Lunchtime run: Back

I just finished a 5.907km running that lasted about 0hh:33mm:15.0ss !

This was my first run in a week. I did something to my back on Saturday whilst doing some housework. That is never a good thing, but it seems to have cleared up. I have had a few back issues, but it is usually associated with something more strenuous.

I needed to see how it would be on a run, so I did not aim for sprints this time, just a fairly steady pace. It has been pretty cold in the mornings this week, but had warmed a little by lunchtime. The footpath by work has all been dug up, so I had to divert around that. Once I got going things seemed to be okay and it looks like I sped up a bit to the sort of pace I like to do.

As usual I went up to the lake, but took a shorter route as I had to be back for a meeting. I was actually back just in time for that, so it is a good thing I skipped the outdoor gym, but then I did not want to stress myself too much.

I think my podcasts today were Chasing Tone and Guardian Science. I have listened to two this week featuring Jeff Lynne who has a new ELO album out.

I may try for another run before Sunday, but may not make it to parkrun. I am going to do my longest yearly distance anyway.

I hope everyone is enjoying their running and staying healthy.

I hate it when I hurt my back because many times I can't attribute it to any one thing. If there was something I could learn to avoid that would be awesome, but it usually isn't the case. Many times I think it is because I twisted funny rather than trying to lift something.

I think it is how you twist that does it, but I've had it previously when gardening or trying to lift something heavy. Too easy to do real damage, but I've been lucky so far
