Hello

How are you all?

I hope you are all healthy and always happy. My post this time is more focused on the news and current conditions in our area. Continuous heavy rain for almost a week has flooded the entire Aceh region.

This flood is the worst in the last 10 years. The water continues to rise, and the reservoirs are no longer able to hold the increasing volume of water. So officials opened the water outlets to the river. The excessive water capacity caused the river to overflow, and water has entered residential areas and residents' gardens.

Children are playing happily as if nothing dangerous has happened. Water has inundated residents' homes, gardens, and livestock. Some residents have been evacuated from the worst-hit areas of the flood. They are now at evacuation posts. Some whose homes have not been flooded have chosen to stay in their homes, but remain vigilant. If the water level rises, they will also evacuate.

Food aid has begun arriving from donors. Medical teams have also been deployed to evacuation posts to anticipate any potential disasters for the evacuees. They have prepared medicines as first aid for those who are ill.
Evacuation posts have been set up in several flood-prone areas.

The local economy has been completely paralyzed. This flood has also caused significant losses to residents, including property, household items, livestock, agriculture, and gardens. However, so far, there have been no reports of casualties. However, the bad news is that the water embankment in Unit 5 has leaked, causing flooding in several villages to worsen.

The rain has not stopped yet. According to BMKG data, there is still potential for severe weather to hit Aceh and the surrounding areas. The government urges us to remain vigilant and cautious, and if possible, evacuate to higher ground. Hopefully, this disaster will pass quickly, the rain will stop, and the water will recede.

This post was made before the major flooding in my area.
