Work compromise

When I got into this field, I knew I would have to make a lot of compromises along the way. I had no idea what these compromises would be but I knew I’d have no other choice but to make them and when I do I’d feel terrible.

At the moment, I feel like I’m making one of those compromises that I always feared. I want to be a little upset about doing this but I don’t feel like I have a choice due to my many needs that have to be met.

I recently took a job that’s paying me a lot less than it should because I want to help out a friend but the client made a lot more demands than I anticipated and I feel tired and trapped. I hoped to get the job done in a couple of days but the moment I began, I already started to feel tired.

I’m designing an entire travel agency website including an admin back end for less than $40. It’s so frustrating to even talk about because it’s extremely draining but I can’t complain because the person who got the client for me is a close friend who has been helpful to me and he just wants to do them a favor.

I haven’t been this uninterested in a project but I have to get it done and I need to do an amazing job too. The client dared to ask me to design samples for her but I ignored that and just made a simple and functional design.

Moving forward, I know I’ll have to make many more compromises like these so I’m using this as practice. I just hope it doesn’t happen too often.
