🌆Some small shops at the entrance of the evening market🌆
Hello my loving Asean Hive community,
Welcome to my new post. Greetings to all my friends. Yesterday I told you about making a jam using mulberry. Today I will tell you about the shops at the entrance of a market in my town. In the town where I live, there are many markets such as Banyan market, morning market, evening market and night market. The night market has been closed for a long time due to the political situation in our country.
The evening market is one of the busiest markets. This is because the market is open in the evening and the locals come to the market to buy vegetables and meat for dinner. This evening my mom and I went to the market to buy some snacks. However, my mother was a little busy, so we bought snack from a few shops at the entrance of the market. Before I talk about the snack I bought, let me tell you about some of the shops I took pictures of.
Vendors at this evening market usually have a small table on the floor with fruits on it. The first shop I saw was a fruit shop. The shop mainly sells apples and mangoes. I saw apples being sold in three categories. Each group has different quality and different prices. The town where I live is on the border with China, so most of the fruit is imported from China.
The mangoes sold at the shop are also very fragrant. All three apples are cheap, but mangoes are a little more expensive. Even while I was taking pictures of the mangoes, I could smell the sweetness of the mangoes. Grapes are one of the most expensive fruits in our town. These grapes are even more expensive than mangoes.
Another shop I found was a traditional flower shop. In the small town where I live, there are many Buddhists who give flowers to the Buddha. That's why there are so many flower shops in this evening market. This traditional flower shop is here when we were young. So this shop owner and I are very close.
The traditional flower shops in the evening market are not very grand. However, it is beautiful to see a lot of flowers in small traditional flower shops. These traditional flower shops mainly sell chrysanthemum, rose, aster, eugenia leaves and lily flowers. Some of the smaller flowers are grouped by color and placed on the table. Flowers that are very long, such as lilies and aster, are kept in large pots. I did not find a lily flower in this shop.
When do you like to eat snacks? I like to eat snacks before dinner while watching a movie or drawing a sketch. For today, I bought two snacks. Let me first talk about Burmese Couple Rice Pies. Burmese Couple Rice Pies is one of the most popular Burmese street food and is mainly made with rice flour. I will explain in detail how to make Burmese Couple Rice Pies later.
Another one I bought was Burmese pan cake. It is called Bein mont in Myanmar. Many Burmese snacks are made with rice powder and these Burmese pan cakes are mainly made with rice powder. Burmese pan cakes also contain coconut and poppy seeds. These pan cakes are cheaper than Burmese Couple Rice Pies later. Do you think this will taste good?
The flowers look very fresh!
Those pancakes look very delicious. Do you put a topping like jam on them or just eat them plain?
