Distribution of Food Pack & Cash Assistance

Thank God it's Friday @asean.hive family how was your weekday? I hope it went well because before my weekend start I was lucky to be called earlier and been part of the first batch. What first batch I'm talking about? The distribution of food relief and cash assistance happened earlier. Where? In our barangay cover court.

Three days ago the counselor of our place called me and told that Ria's weight is need to be checked and listed on our barangay. They said they'll go to our house but won't ride on a boat ⛵. So it means we'll meet on the road in my aunts house. I told my daughter to accompany her sister, after checking Ria's weight they told my daughter to submit a certain requirement needed. Like Xerox copy of my ID with three signature below, picture of our house and personal letter. The certificate of indigency will be given at the office of the barangay. I wasn't able to take a picture of the documents but here's what I wrote and a photo of our house.

  Good morning everyone. I'm Graciela Cordero. Lives at 313 Purok 3 Santa Lucia high way Calumpit Bulacan. I have been living in this place for 20 years. I saw a big change here. The fields used to be planted with rice and vegetables. But now it doesn't, Every rainy season, high tide, my son and I have to endure going down to our submerged home. We were also sick with swollen feet and fever due to pain. But we put up with it because of the condition of our house.

 If we are lucky, we will ask someone to put a roof over our house. For several years we have endured the situation where you are not welcome. We can't walk dry in our environment. Each house has its own boat otherwise it will slide into the water. We have four children who are studying so there is nothing left over from my husband's salary. Hard working children who even if it rains, they get wet in the boat will still go to school. I just hope that they will never experience that there is water inside our house or until they sleep.

Earlier I was called by the teacher of Ria she said that the mother leader of our barangay wanted to speak with me. Hello Grace, did your nephew gave you your stub yesterday? I answered no ate, I haven't got anything. Okay you need to come right now because the mayor is coming she'll not left the thing that was all for you. After the phone call I called my nephew and and asked if they have my stub? And they said yes, I told them that we are called at the cover court. I rush things taking a bath and so on, we just walked. As we arrive we signed some papers, then our beautiful Mayor was already there. Making her wonderful speech.

After her speech they personally gave the food pack with a $9 cash assistance. They didn't made us to fall in line instead they were the one who come to our seats. She was also the first woman who become a Mayor in our place. She defeat the family that has been sitting for decades and I don't know what they did to our place! The people wanted to try a new leader and I think she is getting it right. We are hoping for a rightful change and may God and his mercy provide what is needed.
