It's All So Quiet!

(Edited)

Wow!! It's been almost 2 months since my last post? How time flies... I keep thinking "tomorrow I'll post something" and then I never do. 🀦

Well, I might as well post a photo today, for the #treetuesday initiative by @old-guy-photos. It's an excuse as good as any other! Right? 😁

This photo was taken next to the Castro de TroΓ±a archaeological site, which by the '~' over the 'n' you should already guessed where it is located: yep, in Spain. To be more accurate, in Galicia.

The place is really tranquil and pretty much deserted most of the time, even though there are some interesting Roman ruins to see at the site... So, if you find yourself in need for some peace and quiet, this is the spot! 😎

I hope you liked the shot. I'll try to be a little more regular going forward. πŸ˜€

Your absence was noticed! - Believe it or not, I was here again yesterday evening thinking, "Should I leave him a note or not and just wait patiently to give him space to choose his own time?!?"
Apparently, I took the second choice, and seeing you back, I'm even happier that I wasn't pushy! 😊

Well, there were lots of things going on, on my end.
To name a few... - I went to Amsterdam for HiveFest 7 meeting (my first). It was quite an experience! πŸ˜€
My youngest son and his wife arrived from Spain for a couple of weeks of vacation and to attend my oldest son's wedding. I'll skip the mumbo-jumbo of wedding preparations a couple of months before "The Day."
Then it was the wedding and after the wedding parties.
I caught a cold couple of days before the wedding. Somehow, I managed to suppress it during the wedding and those few days after. But, as I didn't properly lie down as I should have, a couple of days later, it caught me again, looking more like some flu than a cold, and glued me in the house for the following two weeks, half of which I spent in bed.
When I finally got into some more or less normal condition (I still cough a bit), some other new things popped up, and they just kept rolling.
My daughter told me the other day if she doesn't meet me or call me every day, she feels like she is losing track, as there were days when some things would change a couple of times within an hour.
In short - crazy times! 😁

Hivefest? Ah, I don't have the patience for such events. Besides, I prefer to maintain a certain distance from the whales of this network. 🀭

I'm glad you're feeling better now.

I can understand you. Still, for me, it wasn't some patience task. Quite in contrary. Apparently, I was curious enough to observe it like a kid with wide-open eyes. 😲

Regarding whales, in these several years I've been around here, and in general, my approach was quite similar or even the same as yours. But when I was going there (on HiveFest), I didn't want to go with some prejudice. So, I tried to make myself aware as much as it was possible that on social media sites and platforms like this one, it's easy to misunderstand and misjudge the other side as we lack lots of information we would get in real-life personal contact (like facial expressions, body language, tone of voice, etc.).
(I know, it happened to me several times, especially in the first couple of years around here, for some (from my point of view) most sincere constructive criticism. But my plain and simple straightforwardness to some others "sounded" too strict, or too harsh, or too judgemental and not at all as constructive criticism or even offensive and aggressive. So, I learned on my own skin that words on paper or screen may be interpreted in all sorts of ways that actually might not have anything in common with the message the author wanted to send. All of that it's even more likely to happen if just one side speaks a language that is not actually his/her mother tongue, as some things in that person's first language would be just a common mild expression while (more or less) literally translated in English or some other language would be a pure disaster.)

For all these reasons, I decided not to pay attention or even less worry about if someone was a whale or not. After all, I thought, we are all just flesh and blood human beings, and that's how I approached every single HiveFest attendee I had a chance to talk with. And I can tell you that many of them surprised me in the most positive way, as for some of them (whales and non-whales), I created an entirely different or even wrong picture starting from their physical appearance up to the impression of their personality.
