Follow Friday: Ups and Downs

The News

I was away last week, so did not do a #FollowFriday post. It seems I missed a spike in the $HBD price, but it soon returned to the peg. $HIVE also had a pump thanks to our friends in Korea that lasted a little longer. It has settled a little higher than before and seems to be following a general upward trend for now.

Prices

The other main news this week is the public launch of Threads from @leofinance. See their post. This is a form of microblogging that uses comments on a post to avoid them getting auto-votes as well as keeping them off your main feed. These are still early days. At first performance was struggling as people rushed to use it. Today it is better, but it lacks some features such as having a personal feed. I would recommend having a play to see how it works and to feed back suggestions to the team.

@Hivefest is just six weeks away. @roelandp just announced the venue for the second day as well as some of the speakers. The talks should be streamed, but if you are there you will be able to talk to these people in person.

There is a scheme to help fund your travel to Amsterdam. See the post from @hivebuzz and this one. You can contribute to the fund.

These people get a share of the post rewards:

The Doghouse

Be careful who you allow to post on your blog. An established Hiver paid someone to produce some travel content that turned out to be plagiarised. He has explained what happened, but the damage has been done and his reputation will have taken a hit.

The End

I will be doing a #Britlist post tomorrow, but I do not have many new people to add so far. I have found various accounts that claim to be in the UK, but their posts suggest they could be elsewhere. I try to do some checking they are genuine and it is up to them to provide some evidence. What I may do is list them on the post as 'possibles'.

Have a great weekend!

Amsterdam is so amazing. Hive often surprises me, its price is rising quickly. In one hour it can rise twice its value.

Crypto is generally volatile and $HIVE is small enough to suffer big swings. We need steady growth to get more stability.

In some posts people imitate famous people in music it's funny especially when they dance too

Thanks for the mention and the % beneficiary @steevc!

It's a bit scary about the story of the content someone paid for that turned out to be plagiarised. From the post it seemed like he did some pretty reasonable checks but it still turned out to be copied. I can't imagine paying someone to write content, though I can imagine for some bigger projects it isn't so unreasonable to do and I know some of those have teams of people that work on content and curation. That being said I guess then it's obvious it's a project account rather than an individual.

Really looking forward to Hive Fest and I'll have an announcement about how people can contribute to the electronic music I'll be making for it very soon...

Have a great weekend!

There are lots of trust issues around sharing an account. I think lessons were learned in this case.

I'm counting the days until HF. I will probably bring an instrument of some sort.

Not long to go - that would be cool if you bring an instrument!

The biggest problem is the said user doesn't see paying someone to write articles for him being an issue. The post title is no different from me saying "Thank you to the NHS for your hard work". He totally neglects the fundamental problem as if it has nothing to do with him.

With all the excuses and how he went into all the trouble of checking everything, is he honestly expecting people to be grateful to him for being so diligent and bringing traffic to Hive with his plagiarised content? Coz it seems like he's succeeded. Never mind the fact that he's paying people to write his post.

Apologies if I sound harsh, but it's these people who's been around for so long and think they can get away with anything that kills Hive.

Anyway, rant over. Have a great weekend!! 🙂

Last week was all about the pump and how people take advantage it but this week brings about something fun, rewarding and most all a new beginning. Leo thread will become a beast

This comparison is beautiful, and HIVE's red line seems to be uphill

How can you tell that the price increase was caused by people in Korea?

On Coingecko you can see where the trading is happening and most was on Upbit, which is in Korea.
