(Edited)

It's Saturday once again!

Here are five articles from Friday and Saturday from the Ladies of Hive. They were selected for curation for the #MSP-Curation as a part of the @Minnowsupport initiative. PAL supports all Hive users, but notably the minnows.

It is a wonderful opportunity to pick five articles from Ladies of Hive, which is my main focus!

Every week, a Moderator gives prompts for our members to choose from. For instance, this week the questions were:

What are your strategies and tactics to stay on track with your financial goals?
OR
Name your favorite Charity and what makes it special to you?

Each of these articles have been upvoted by @minnowsupport.

@estelacha

Every year I organize my annual emotional budget and I write down in it the activities that I am going to carry out. Among these, there are three that I never fail to do and I want to share them with you:

  • I manage and prepare the birthday activities for my nieces, nephews, sisters and other family members. This is vital for me because in these activities we get together and celebrate much more than a life anniversary.
  • I prepare some of my nieces and nephews for college. This gives me a lot of pleasure. I think it is a civic duty to give to others what they once gave to you and, in my case, I have a degree in Education, specializing in Spanish-Literature, and this is the fundamental basis of cultural development for any activity we do.
  • Sentimental counselor. Perhaps the experience and the obstacles that I have had to overcome in life have endowed me with certain experience and to be able to advise, indicate something or point out the most appropriate way is something that others say that I am good at.
    In addition to these there are other activities that I do that give me a sentimental harmony and a gratification that is not compared to any money in the world. Many will think that I am exaggerating, but, at my age this is the best thing that can happen to me.

@yirkahr

From everything new in my life these are the things I have had to do to meet my overall budget for myself and my family, these are the things I have had to do so that my financial goals are not undermined by the temptation to spend:

  • Plan in the month what I need to send as family support and what I need to spend on my personal interests.
  • Prioritize the expenses of the family members I need to help. For this, I take into account: the purchasing power of each one, the most needy, when they have a birthday, if there is any medical need, etc.
  • Prioritize my expenses, in order not to fall into unnecessary consumption, so that I can make a rational use of the budget.
  • Adjust my budget to my personal and family needs.

In the end, I consider that both objectives can coincide and achieve that, when I make my household budget, I can fulfill all levels of help; both personal and family.

@ashiru

For me to avoid Overspending at all costs, I always put all my monthly income into consideration first. The reason for doing this, is to build all my expenses on my income, because I hate borrowing money or getting into debt.
However, no matter how little my monthly income might be, I always budget more of my income into savings. I'm fond of savings than spending. So, my first budget plan after knowing my monthly Income is saving for the future, I saved a lot. sometimes I save highest percentage from my income.
The remaining money after my savings is where I always set up my expenses throughout the month, expenses which include my wants and my needs throughout the month and my emergency money for health care, because health is wealth, and some other things that meant comes up as an emergency.
I know isn't always an easy task to do, looking at the country economics challenges but for me to achieve my goal, and avoid overspending, that may lead me into debt or borrowing money, I always learnt to say NO, stay focus or avoid distractions that can prevent me from achieving my financial goal.
Even when I enter a shopping mall or restaurant that my budget plan look like is going to break down. My strategies or tactics to always avoid overspending, is me always remember this proverb. That say "money is a visitor, it comes and goes" and help me to stay focus, No distraction, stay motivated and spend wisely.

@wenggo

Recently, I didn't have a permanent work, my husband has a regular job for 7 years now. As I recall our life last year, we seldom visit a shopping center, because we don't have enough budget to buy for something. Staying on the right track, can be something hard for us , because our monthly income was not that sufficient enough.But, what we are doing right now, is that, every payday, we don't cash out all of his salary. Instead, we just withdraw an amount which is enough for our weekly food and allowance for kids.
This is to avoid spending money to something that is not necessary for the moment. We only prioritize our foods, and the kids needs for school. Sometimes, I do have an extra work, like cleaning a house of a friend , or washing their laundries, I can also helped our daily expenses, without touching the remaining money on the bank. I grabbed every kind of job whatever it is, as long as legal. Maybe I was tired with lots of rejections that I received before for not having a degree. Every opportunity that comes to me was like a precious gold that I should always treasure. Budgeting, and prioritizing things helped us day by day. We aimed to saved money every month for the rainy days of our life.

@biyaawnur

Now if you know me you know that I'm a person who always wants to serve people, do Charity and make world a little bit more peaceful.
So today we talk about not one but Five different ways to do Charity on a budget or even If you are broke.
Volunteer for cleaning service:
Usually people think charity is a Expensive habit and you need tons of donations but it's really not necessary.
I have been doing charitable services even when I had no money as a teen . I used to see senior citizens in my city and would offer them a cleaning service for free. There was this one lady in my Neighborhood after the Floods last year she her roof was damaged and the whole place was just unlivable.
Donate Your Hair:
Another cheap a easy way to do Charity is to donate your hair . Not do I just cut 9 inches of my hair for donation every year for the Cancer patients. But I Also donate my own hand made wigs with fallen hair . I do it by collecting fallen hair from hair brush washing them and sticking them to a big piece of nano tape . I start by sticking up each year one by one . It's a little time consuming but a perfect hobby as I'm soaking sun in winters I do this and when the hair look great in Volume I just braid them and cut the tape part and donate them . Human hair wigs re really expensive so donating hai is actually a great way to bring joy to Cancer patients or alopecia patients .
Hand made goods :
I love making small toys and doing diy projects so every now and then I get clay and make toys with those even origami paper windmills and I take them to my local Orphanage . It costs little to no money but really brings so much joy to the kids around me when they get a thing to play with.
Head Massages :
Another way to provide service is to offer a good head massage . When ever I meet an old person I offer to give them a good hair massage with oil and they absolutely love it . I believe Elders deserve empathy and kindness cause at that age they get lonely and scared of dying and some kind words some service can make them feel loved . That itself is just heart warming.
Spice and herbs :
I grow my own herbs like curry leaves , chillies , mint parsley , fennel, rosemary and Basil. So when ever I have a good harvest I dry them all store them in a air tight container and I even gift them to my friends family and neighbors that's another way to offer something without having to cost a buck.
These were some budget friendly ways to do Charity and I hope you liked to read it . I also hope you spend time doing one of these too.
