Gift Box with Recycled Materials ǀ Cajita de Regalo
Greetings, DIYHub friends! It's a pleasure to be with you again after a while of absence. Today I want to show you a craft made almost entirely from recycled materials. It is a transparent gift box. Let's take a look at the materials and the procedure.
¡Saludos, amigos de DIYHub! Es un placer estar nuevamente con ustedes después de un tiempo de ausencia. El día de hoy quiero mostrarles una manualidad hecha casi totalmente de materiales reciclados. Se trata de una caja de regalos transparente. Veamos los materiales y el procedimiento.
We will need / Vamos a necesitar:
We start by cutting out the center of the bottle, as we need the part that is completely smooth. We make a few cuts to refine and make it as neat as possible.
Iniciamos recortando el centro de la botella, pues necesitamos la parte que es totalmente lisa. Hacemos unos cortes para afinar y que quede lo más prolijo posible.
Now we are going to flatten our cylindrical piece with the help of the edge of a pair of scissors until it is flat, we are going to do this process in both directions in order to make a cube, as you can see in the image. We reserve the piece.
Ahora vamos a aplanar nuestra pieza cilíndrica con la ayuda del canto de unas tijeras hasta que quede llano, este proceso lo vamos a hacer en ambos sentidos de manera de lograr realizar un cubo, como se puede apreciar en la imagen. Reservamos la pieza.
Now we are going to create the base and cover of the box with cardboard. To do this, we mark a square measuring 9 cm on each side with 1.5 cm flaps and cut it out. We make some cuts in the corners and then fold and glue to achieve the desired shape.
Ahora vamos a crear la base y tapa de la caja con cartulina. Para ello marcamos un cuadrado con unas medidas de 9 cm por cada lado con unas aletas de 1,5 cm y recortamos. Hacemos unos cortes en los ángulos y pasamos a doblar y pegar para lograr la forma deseada.
Once we have the base ready, we put liquid silicone on the inner edges and glue our transparent cube. We make pressure so that everything is well fixed. Now we are going to add a touch of shine by placing 1.5 cm strips of glittered foamy on all the edges.
Una vez tengamos la base lista le colocamos silicón líquido en los bordes internos y pegamos nuestro cubo transparente. Hacemos presión para que todo quede bien fijado. Ahora vamos a dar un toque de brillo colocando tiras de Foamy escarchado de 1,5 cm en todos los bordes.
For the top we do the same procedure as with the base only this time we place a lid on the top with glittered foamy for a better finish.
Para la tapa hacemos el mismo procedimiento que con la base solo que esta vez le colocamos una tapa a la parte superior con Foamy escarchado para un mejor acabado.
Then, we place decorative band that will also serve as a closing mechanism for our gift box, as we can see in the image.
Acto seguido, colocamos cinta decorativa que también nos servirá de mecanismo de cierre para nuestra cajita de regalos, como podemos ver en la imagen.
And now we are ready to place the detail we want in our box. Finally we close it with a ribbon.
Y ya estamos listos para colocar el detalle que deseemos en nuestra caja. Finalmente cerramos con un lazo.
