Picture Frame ǀ Portarretratos
Hello, DIYHub! This time I want to share with you a craft made as usual, with recycled materials. This is a Portrait Frame decorated with seashells that I collected on my last trip to the beach. Let's see the materials and the step by step.
¡Hola, DIYHub! En esta oportunidad deseo compartir con ustedes una manualidad realizada como de costumbre, con materiales reciclados. Se trata de un Portarretratos adornado con conchas marinas que recogí en mi último paseo a la playa. Vamos a ver los materiales y el paso a paso.
We will need / Vamos a necesitar:
We start by marking on a sheet of cardboard a size of 21 x 26 cm for the picture frame. Then we cut with the help of a cutter or a pair of scissors.
Iniciamos marcando en una lámina de cartón unas medidas de 21 x 26 cm para el marco del portarretratos. Luego recortamos con la ayuda de un cúter o unas tijeras.
We are going to cover this frame with thin cardboard; in this case I chose a pink one. We glue it and then make some cuts to make it easier to attach it to the frame.
Vamos a forrar este marco con cartulina; es este caso yo elegí una de color rosado. Pegamos y luego hacemos unos cortes para que sea más fácil unirla a la estructura.
I added some purple decorative stripes to my design.
Yo le coloqué unas franjas decorativas de color violeta a mi diseño.
On the back, we are going to place 3 strips of cardboard and on them a sheet of the same material to create a kind of compartment where the photograph would go.
Por la parte de atrás, vamos a colocar 3 tiras de cartón y sobre ellas una lámina del mismo material para crear una especie de compartimento donde iría la fotografía.
Now comes my favorite part, decorating the frame with the seashells that I collected on my last trip to Cata's beach. I used liquid silicone to place them around the edges and corners. Everyone can make the design of their choice.
To give a slight touch of shine, I put homemade varnish that is prepared with equal parts of liquid silicone and alcohol, which is left to stand for about 1 hour until there are no more bubbles in the mixture.
Ahora viene mi parte favorita, adornar el marco con las conchas marinas que recogí en mi último paseo a la playa de Cata. Vamos colocándolas por los bordes y esquinas, yo utilicé silicón líquido. Cada quien puede hacer el diseño de su preferencia.
Para dar un leve toque de brillo, yo le coloqué barniz casero que se prepara con partes iguales de silicón líquido y alcohol, que se deja reposar por aproximadamente 1 hora hasta que ya no haya burbujas en la mezcla.
Finally, I made a triangular-shaped support with cardboard and glued it on the back.
Finalmente realicé un soporte de forma triangular con cartón y lo pegué en la parte posterior.
And so is our picture frame, with few materials and some creativity, I placed a picture of some family members; you can also place images or drawings of our preference. I hope you liked this simple but beautiful craft. Thanks for joining me here.

Una manualidad realmente hermosa y sencilla de hacer y qué lindo que te trajeras algo de tu viaje a la playa para hacer esta manualidad, de esa manera siempre recordarás ese viaje y la playa siempre estará muy cerca de ti.
