Bird Feeder ǀ Comedero para Aves
Happy day, DIYHub community! Today, I want to show you how to make a beautiful and eco-friendly project. It's a bird feeder made from a Tetra Pak container and a few other materials. Let's take a look at the materials you'll need and the step-by-step instructions.
¡Feliz día, comunidad de DIYHub! En esta ocasión quiero enseñarles a realizar un hermoso y ecológico proyecto. Se trata de un comedero para aves con envase Tetra Pak y pocos materiales. Vamos a ver los materiales necesarios y el paso a paso.
We will need / Vamos a necesitar:
- Tetra Pak milk carton / Caja de leche Tetra Pak
- Paints and paintbrushes / Pinturas y pincel
- Natural twig sticks and jute twine / Ramas naturales y mecatillo de yute
We begin by removing the flaps from the beverage carton, as shown in the image. These will later serve as part of the hanger for our bird feeder.
Iniciamos despegando las aletas de la caja de bebida como vemos en la imagen. Estos más adelante nos servirán como parte del colgadero para nuestro comedero de aves.
We continue by marking and cutting a rectangular hole on both sides of the box. These will be the entrances or access points for the birds.
Proseguimos a marcar y recortar un agujero en forma de rectángulo en ambas caras de la caja. Estos van a ser las entradas o accesos para las aves.
We are going to make some small holes in both the flaps and in the center of the base of the box. This will allow us to insert the twigs that will serve as handles and footrests.
Vamos a hacer unos pequeños agujeros tanto en las aletas como en el centro de la base de la caja. Esto nos servirá para colocar las ramitas que fungirán de asa y posa patas.
Let's attach some flaps to the sides of the box as shown in the image to give the feeder the shape of a little house. You can use the same Tetra Pak cardboard material.
Vamos a colocar unas aletas en las caras de la caja como vemos en la imagen para darle forma de casita al comedero, pueden utilizar el mismo material del cartón Tetra Pak.
It's time to paint the box. First, we'll apply a few coats of white paint to serve as a base and help the subsequent paint provide better coverage.
Es hora de pintar la caja. Primero le damos unas capas de color blanco que nos sirva como base y haga que la pintura posterior tenga una mejor cobertura.
I chose a primary blue color that I had on hand and applied several coats as I saw necessary. You can choose the color and shades of your preference.
Yo elegí un color azul primario que tenia a la mano y di varias capas según lo vi necesario. Ustdes pueden escoger el color y los tonos de su preferencia.
Since I'm not very good at painting flowers directly onto the piece and I didn't have a brush suitable for the job, I decided to glue on some cherry blossoms I had saved to add a decorative touch.
Como no soy muy buena pintando flores directamente en la pieza ni tenía un pincel adecuado para ese trabajo, decidí pegar unas flores de cerezo que tenía guardadas, para dar un toque decorativo.
It's time to place the natural twigs that, as I mentioned, will serve as handles at the top and footrests at the bottom.
Es hora de colocar las ramitas naturales que como ya mencioné fungirán de asa en la parte superior y de posa patas en la parte inferior.
Finally, we attach a piece of jute string to complete the feeder's handle so that it can be hung from a tree, allowing birds to come and eat seeds or fruit.
Finalmente le colocamos un pedazo de hilo de yute para completar el asa del comedero y poderlo guindar en algún árbol, permitiendo así que las aves vengan a comer semillas o frutas.
