✈️ Hello Hive family! Here’s a new post to close the year, between Christmas in Valencia and a quiet winter day in Jàvea.

This post is a small mix of moments to close the year.

First, a bit of Christmas in Valencia. The lights, the streets, the atmosphere that I really enjoyed this year. I like walking around the city these days, without rushing, just looking and taking photos when something catches my eye.

After that, I went to spend the day in Jàvea. It was very cold, not the kind of weather you imagine when you think about the coast, but it was still beautiful. Walking by the sea, breathing fresh air, feeling that calm that only places like this can give, even in winter.

With this post, I’m ending the year between Jàvea and PeakD. I’m really grateful to be part of this community. I’ve felt very welcome here and very comfortable sharing my photos, my art, and my thoughts.

These days I’ve been a bit less active because Christmas has been busy, but I wanted to finish the year with this post. And I promise I’ll keep sharing more in the next one.

Este post es una pequeña mezcla de momentos para cerrar el año.

Primero, un poco de la Valencia navideña. Las luces, las calles, el ambiente que este año me ha gustado mucho. Me gusta pasear por la ciudad en estas fechas, sin prisas, simplemente mirando y haciendo fotos cuando algo me llama la atención.

Después, me fui a pasar el día a Jàvea. Hacía mucho frío, no es el típico tiempo que imaginas cuando piensas en la costa, pero aun así es un sitio precioso. Pasear junto al mar, respirar aire fresco y sentir esa calma que solo lugares así te dan, incluso en invierno.

Con este post termino el año entre Jàvea y PeakD. Estoy muy agradecido de poder formar parte de esta comunidad. Me he sentido muy acogido y muy a gusto compartiendo aquí mis fotos, mi arte y mis pensamientos.

Estos días he estado un poco menos activo porque en Navidad he estado bastante ocupado, pero quería cerrar el año con este post. Y prometo seguir publicando más.

These photos are all from Valencia.

One of them was taken while I was taking care of a friend’s dog. We went for a walk near the Turia river, and I couldn’t resist taking a photo with the bridge in the background. I really liked the calm of that moment, the reflection on the water, and having him there just looking around.

Another photo is from a bar with a Christmas decoration on the ceiling that caught my attention. Branches, hanging ornaments, gifts… simple but very well done. Sometimes you don’t expect to find something like that just by walking into a random place.

There’s also the Plaza de la Virgen with the Christmas tree. Nothing exaggerated, but very beautiful. Clean, elegant, and perfectly fitting the place. One of those spots that always feels special, especially at this time of year.

One photo is from a mosaic near my area, in El Cabanyal. It has nothing to do with Christmas, but the colors and shapes gave me a bit of a festive feeling. I liked that contrast, something not meant to be Christmas-related but still fitting the mood.

Another one shows the front of a private house decorated for Christmas. Very detailed, very carefully done. You can tell someone put time and love into it, and I always appreciate that kind of effort.

And finally, the passage with those modern Christmas trees and Santa Claus. I really liked that mix of contemporary design and traditional Christmas elements. It felt different, original, and very Valencia in its own way.

Una de ellas la hice mientras cuidaba al perrito de un amigo. Salimos a pasear por la zona del río Turia y me encantó el momento, con el puente de fondo, el reflejo en el agua y él simplemente observando todo.

Otra foto es de la decoración navideña de un bar, en el techo. Ramas, adornos colgantes, regalos… algo sencillo pero muy bonito. De esos detalles que no te esperas encontrar y que te alegran el momento.

También está la Plaza de la Virgen con el árbol de Navidad. Muy simple, pero muy bonita. Sin excesos, encajando perfectamente con el entorno. Un lugar que siempre tiene algo especial, sobre todo en estas fechas.

Una de las fotos es de un mosaico por mi zona, en El Cabanyal. No tiene nada que ver con la Navidad, pero los colores y las formas me dieron un toque así navideño. Me gustó ese contraste.

Otra muestra la decoración de la fachada de una vivienda privada. Muy cuidada, con mucho detalle. Se nota cuando alguien dedica tiempo y cariño a decorar su casa, y eso siempre me llama la atención.

Y por último, el pasaje con los árboles de Navidad tan modernos y Papá Noel. Me gustó mucho esa mezcla entre diseño actual y elementos tradicionales. Algo diferente, original y muy propio de Valencia.

After Valencia, I went to spend a day in Jàvea, specifically at Cala Portixol.

It was cold, cloudy, and very quiet. Not the typical summer image of this place, but honestly, I liked it even more like this. Walking along the beach, hearing the sea, feeling that winter calm where everything slows down a bit.

The white houses with blue doors always catch my eye. They feel simple, clean, almost timeless. Even with the grey sky and the cold wind, the place keeps its charm. It’s one of those spots that doesn’t need perfect weather to feel special.

I walked along the shore, stopped to look at the water, the rocks, the small island in front of the coast. No rush, no plan. Just being there for a while, taking photos and enjoying the moment.

Ending the year in a place like Cala Portixol felt like a good way to slow down, breathe, and reset a bit before what comes next.

Después de Valencia, me fui a pasar el día a Jàvea, en concreto a la Cala Portixol.

Hacía frío, estaba nublado y había muchísima calma. No es la imagen típica de verano de este lugar, pero la verdad es que así me gustó incluso más. Pasear por la playa, escuchar el mar y sentir esa tranquilidad del invierno donde todo va más despacio.

Las casas blancas con las puertas azules siempre me llaman la atención. Son sencillas, limpias, casi atemporales. Incluso con el cielo gris y el viento frío, el sitio mantiene su encanto. Es uno de esos lugares que no necesitan buen tiempo para ser especiales.

Caminé por la orilla, me paré a mirar el agua, las rocas, la pequeña isla frente a la costa. Sin prisas, sin plan. Simplemente estar allí un rato, hacer fotos y disfrutar del momento.

Terminar el año en un sitio como la Cala Portixol me pareció una buena forma de bajar el ritmo, respirar y resetear un poco antes de lo que venga después.

I continued the day in Cala Portixol, staying around the same area and taking my time.

I walked through the small paths between the houses, stopped by the sea, and paid attention to the details around me. The bar by the water, the fishing nets, the tables facing the sea, the sound of the waves hitting the stones. Everything felt calm and unhurried.

I also liked how the place looks from above, with the cove surrounded by cliffs and vegetation, and how different it feels from the beach level. It’s a small area, but full of textures, contrasts, and corners to stop and look.

Spending more time in Portixol without rushing made the day feel complete. Just walking, observing, and letting the place speak for itself.

Continué el día en la Cala Portixol, quedándome por la misma zona y tomándomelo con calma.

Paseé por los pequeños caminos entre las casas, me paré junto al mar y me fijé en los detalles. El bar junto al agua, las redes de pesca, las mesas mirando al mar, el sonido de las olas chocando contra las piedras. Todo se sentía tranquilo y sin prisas.

También me gustó ver el lugar desde arriba, con la cala rodeada de acantilados y vegetación, y cómo cambia la sensación respecto a estar a nivel de playa. Es un sitio pequeño, pero lleno de contrastes, texturas y rincones donde pararse.

Pasar más tiempo en Portixol, sin correr, hizo que el día se sintiera completo. Caminar, observar y dejar que el lugar hable por sí solo.

I continued in Jàvea, moving to other areas and walking without any plan.

From small streets that lead straight to the sea, to the promenade by the beach, everything felt calm and open. Christmas decorations mixed with palm trees, the sea in the background, and that winter light that makes the colors softer.

I walked along the beach, watched people passing by, dogs running, couples and families enjoying a quiet afternoon. Nothing extraordinary, just normal life by the sea.

Later, I followed the coastal path next to the rocks. Palm trees, graffiti on the walls, the sound of the waves hitting the shore. A different side of Jàvea, less polished, but very real.

To finish, I stopped in front of some shop windows with Christmas decorations. Simple scenes, familiar and calm. Small details that remind you the year is coming to an end.

Spending the whole day in Jàvea like this, walking and observing, felt like a good way to slow down and close the year.

Continué en Jàvea, moviéndome por otras zonas y caminando sin ningún plan.

Desde calles pequeñas que llevan directamente al mar, hasta el paseo junto a la playa, todo se sentía abierto y tranquilo. Decoraciones de Navidad mezcladas con palmeras, el mar al fondo y esa luz de invierno que suaviza los colores.

Caminé por la playa, vi pasar a la gente, perros corriendo, parejas y familias disfrutando de una tarde tranquila. Nada extraordinario, simplemente vida cotidiana junto al mar.

Más tarde seguí el camino de la costa junto a las rocas. Palmeras, grafitis en las paredes y el sonido de las olas rompiendo. Una cara de Jàvea menos pulida, pero muy real.

Para terminar, me paré frente a algunos escaparates con decoraciones navideñas. Escenas sencillas, familiares y tranquilas. Pequeños detalles que te recuerdan que el año se está acabando.

Pasar todo el día en Jàvea así, caminando y observando, me pareció una buena forma de bajar el ritmo y cerrar el año.

To finish the day in Jàvea, I visited this church, and honestly, the architecture really impressed me.

From the outside, the structure already feels powerful. Those concrete columns rising up, the shapes, the angles, and how the building plays with the sky and the light. It doesn’t feel like a traditional church, but it still feels solid, calm, and very present.

Inside, everything changes. The space opens up, the light comes in softly from above, and the wooden ceiling gives a warm contrast to the stone walls. It’s quiet, simple, and very balanced. A place that makes you slow down without trying.

I also liked the small details: the nativity scene, the sculptures, the way light falls on certain spots. Nothing feels excessive. Everything feels intentional.

Ending the walk here felt like a good way to close the day in Jàvea. Architecture, silence, and time to just look around.

Para terminar el día en Jàvea, visité esta iglesia y, la verdad, su arquitectura me impresionó mucho.

Desde fuera, la estructura ya es muy potente. Esas columnas de hormigón elevándose, las formas, los ángulos y cómo el edificio juega con el cielo y la luz. No es una iglesia tradicional, pero aun así transmite solidez, calma y presencia.

Por dentro, el espacio cambia por completo. Todo se abre, la luz entra suavemente desde arriba y el techo de madera crea un contraste cálido con las paredes de piedra. Es un lugar tranquilo, sencillo y muy equilibrado. De esos sitios que te hacen bajar el ritmo sin darte cuenta.

También me gustaron los pequeños detalles: el belén, las esculturas, la forma en la que la luz cae en ciertos puntos. Nada sobra, todo parece pensado.

Terminar el paseo aquí me pareció una buena forma de cerrar el día en Jàvea. Arquitectura, silencio y tiempo para simplemente observar.
