Princess is now an engineer 🫣

I don't know when I switched from a writer/teacher/singer/counsellor to an engineer as my Dad never stopped praising me because I helped him set most things on his phone. If I am an engineer just because I operated some little things on his phone, what should we call the likes of Engr. @olujay because the guy went to school, studied the course and graduated. He even did induction and convocation, so who am I? πŸ˜ƒ

Okay, this was how it all began....

1000095080.jpg

He called me some weeks ago and was angry on the phone as he started complaining about my cousin to me. He said my cousin had disorganised a lot of things on his phone and couldn't retrieve a lot of documents and apps. He was very annoyed and I had to calm him down. He explained in detail how it happened and how my cousin pretended to know what was wrong with the phone until he scattered everything and couldn't fix it. Dad said he took the phone to an engineer who told him something silly; I had forgotten it but something like he would need his email address to retrieve some apps and have access to his WhatsApp....What? How come? That was how I told my dad to be patient till I come home so I could help fix all because this engineer was about to extort from him. Imagine?

This is how these old people are scammed. I remembered a post sometime back on how a guy scammed his grandma; he told her to bring a huge amount of money to help her open a Facebook account and that was how the ignorant woman paid πŸ˜† This is similar to what was about to happen to my dad, thank God he called me before doing anything.

As I got home and finished the burial ceremony, I had time to help fix those problems he was having on his phone. He listed all the issues on a sheet of paper, this was so funny to me. The first thing was to help download the Opera News App because that was something very important to him. He used to listen to and read the news online and since my cousin had cleared many things, he couldn't fix them back and my dad too was deprived of reading the daily news. I downloaded the app from Play Store, together with the Dictionary and Bible as instructed.

His Facebook account got hacked due to his carelessness because he told me how he clicked on a code that was sent to his phone which he does not know of. I took my time explaining to him to never click any link sent to him. I deleted many messages on his phone and advised him not to click any further links that would be sent to him. Fortunately, I was able to hijack his account back and changed his password to a stronger one.

After finishing those, we moved to setting a new email address for him because we couldn't retrieve the former one. He told me I was the one that helped him open the account which was years ago and I couldn't remember. There was a recovery number that was needed to get the account but I do not remember the number I used then since he said I opened it for him. After many trials and not leading to a successful end, I opened a new one, this time around, making sure he had the password and recovery number in a safe hand.

The last thing that got me laughing hard was the part where he needed to add battery percentage where he could see how much battery was left on his phone. He talked about how his favourite colour (red) on his keyboard was removed and asked if it was possible to get it back. Well, I acted like a good daughter, I could have charged him $10 to do that 😏 He emphasised that colour the most and wanted it to work if possible.

That was how the 'engineer' in me sprung into action in making it possible. I enabled the eye-care feature for him and explained its usefulness to the eyes, though he asked me to disable it because he couldn't see his phone clearly. I showed him if he needed a dark theme instead of the white one, I think he isn't used to it because when I activated it for him, he liked it but later told me to change it back to white for him. Lol, See old man πŸ˜†

I changed the keyboard colour to red, you need to come and see how he was displaying enthusiastically in the parlour as if I did something huge. He never stopped praising and calling me an engineer. He even had to introduce me to the elderly ones who kept coming to greet us since Mama's burial, OMG, I felt like a goddess πŸ˜ƒ He said he would never give his phone to my cousin again because he doesn't know anything but to damage things. I was just smiling but I am glad doing those things for him for free because it wasn't easy 😌. I was sweating profusely getting everything done. Being an engineer isn't a small thing oo 🀣🀣 I am thinking of adding this skill to my CV or what do you think, @merit.ahama? πŸ˜’ I want to make money with it.

Both images are originally mine and taken with my Samsung Galaxy A14

Thanks for your time on my blog

Hahahaha, it's a good thing my father doesn't use a cell phone, or he would be not only confused but scammed all the time. My mother does use one, but mostly for basic things. She's afraid to shop online so at least she won't be scammed that way.
Good job on making the phone work for your father again!

Hehehe. Oldies are easier to be scammed because they feel they do not have the knowledge to deal with a cell phone. Thank you, ma.

Omg, good thing he has a daughter that is good with anything haha. But his action praising and bragging it to other people is just like my Mom. Sometimes too, he react as if I did the most impossible thing when in fact I just learned about it though exploring hahaha. Im happy with the praise and all, but the bragging to other people is kinda embarrassing, lol. Cute, they are just so cute haha.

πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ Our parents are good at bragging about us to other people when they see us doing the impossible in a good way. At least they aren't doing the opposite. Lol
They are so cute 😍

What!!! he scammed his grandmother and it's funny and thought-provoking also.

So you are a papa's mobile engineer without and degreeπŸ˜‚. But I am the family engineer in my familyπŸ˜‚. Now I am also thinking of adding this in my CVπŸ˜‚. I can understand you very well because I am almost in the same position as you haveπŸ˜‚.

You're doing well my dear. You're certainly a wonderful daughter. I wonder why he likes red keyboard though. Lol

Ha ha ha, it's good that you helped your dad and prevented him from being scammed. Those who repair phones in my town also charge old people who have no knowledge of technology to install applications like WhatsApp or Facebook. Luckily my parents have me πŸ˜‚
