A Simple Moment Of Happiness

This is not the end but a moment of happiness to be thankful for during Recognition Day.

From Senior High School Graduation to Completion Ceremony, and finally the Recognition Program. I am truly grateful for the accomplishment especially being the Chairman of a special committee.

End-of-school-year rites ended with a momentous program as we celebrate success and recognize the achievement of our dear students in the institution at the School covered court.

The last day of the school year may be the happiest for everyone, but not for me. It cannot be denied that I am feeling so stressed the past few days. I am not stressed about the tasks given to me but what made me stressed is the deadline. Do you have the same feeling too?

As I stand on the red carpet, with my yellow, red, and pink outfits, and red Faculty Sablay representing the Grade 9 Curriculum, I felt light in my heart for surviving the school year despite all the trials that I have been through since my sister died. Honestly, I had been battling with depression but I never let it drown me, so here I am still smiling despite the deep pain.

And so, last day I was taking a simple moment to have candid shots despite the ups and downs. Here I am with my selfies and simple moment on the stage.

I am not comfortable when I do not finish any task to me. I always make sure that I would meet the deadline. Since I had to multitask by performing tasks designated in my workplace, I am always committed to doing them with the best that I could.

I am not only a teacher but as well as handling ancillary services. Since I have been handling a lot of designations for Chairmanship and Coordinatorship, my life was never the same again when I first entered the school as Secondary School Teacher I. But now, after the promotion and leaps in my work life, I have been handling many duties and responsibilities.

And as a famous saying goes by Franklin D. Roosevelt that great power often comes with great tasks. I must say that I could truly relate and somehow it is true.

Moreover, many students had big smiles and part of it was my students who were also leaders in the school. How I love seeing the big smiles of my dear parents and students.

They asked me to have a photo opportunity with them. They were not only great leaders but as well as top-performing students who served as great inspirations in school and even touched the hearts of other students by being good models.

Just before the Recognition Day, we decided to have a simple Thanksgiving party to celebrate the success of my dear students.

We decided to bring any food. So it was just a potluck system wherein any student could bring food they wanted to bring regardless of what kind.

So after the awarding, we were gathering with my students and my colleagues in the Grade 9 Curriculum.

The students had brought foodies. We shared them all and even invited my colleagues in the other curriculum.

Perhaps in my dialect, I have been using the expression, “bahalag busy basta kay buhi”, which implies that despite the adversities of life what matters is to be alive and kicking!

It may be a simple moment but everything was worth it. I was happy for surviving the school year through ups and downs. And I am glad to celebrate it with my friends and colleagues.
