Some lovely bird shots to please your eyes.

Ah the famous Malachite under the moon.

Like I said before we have some 900+ species of birds in South Africa and here I will show you another bunch of endemic birds.
Time is not on my side to detail the species of each bird, but I will edit the post later to enter the specie names.
For now, this is it.

Look what was sitting at the front of the table here.
Marian always has something that she feeds and in this case a Robin liked her.

"If not, he will make some Kentucky Fried Hadeda out of you".

This shrike mom scored a big fat worm.

Of course she had a youngster to feed.

Talking about youngsters, here was a small sunbird that just had a bath in a stream.

And as usual there was also always danger hanging around in the sky. A Jackal Buzzard came over.

A family of canaries had a meeting about the power cuts over here.

Finally another visitor popped up on the leg of Marian's chair. It is a first for me to get a Southern Boubou.

The photos were all taken by me at a local strawberry farm and I will show you some photos of the farm in a post tomorrow.
We just heard on the news that 3 power generators were successfully repaired and that there might be no power blackouts next week.
Here's hoping that it will be true.

That's what you meant - you are walking around searching for beautiful birds or for nice goats and Marian's fun is having a nice coffee or tea and feeding a little Robin. Just as said before, as long as each other has fun it's perfectly fine 😃

Exactly what I meant Hannes.
We also have our own lives and likes and we help each other with it, as it is a 50/50 deal.
I don't do dishes but I mop the floors and things like that at home.
She does her thing and I do mine and together we make our lives work with peace as the target.

You are doing it the right way Zac, I'm often toooo lazy for housework and I have destroyed so many things in the past years when I have helped, so my wife is happy if I don't do anything 🤣

Hahaha, I expected you to say this Hannes. I am only not allowed to cook in the kitchen as Marian has a food degree and I have a clumsy degree. She uses 5 pots to cook and I only use one.
So no, I cannot cook so I stick to the things that I can do such as mopping the floors, because when I take the mop I think that I am on a racing track 🤣

So obviously you have a degree in laziness 🤣

hihi, I would be allowed to cook, but I make such a mess in the kitchen that my wife prefers me to stay away 🤣
Seriously, I like to cook sometimes Chinese or a bloody steak, but my wife's faster, better and cleaner 😁

That little table in the middle of the garden looks very appealing, one of my to-have once I move outside the city in a few months (hopefully).

Hi Eric, yes that table is my new favorite to sit at , as it has a great open view of nature and of course the birds.
I have lived in cities for three quarters of my life and will never live in a city again.
You will never regret moving out of the city and as you say, we are also hopeful that you will find your ideal place.

Especially now that remote work is a possibility, I can't figure out why there are so many people who just won't leave the city. The noise, the stress, the price of living, pollution... I mean, it's a no brainer, but some people are hardcoded to live in cities, and that is completely fine, I'm just glad I'm not.

Now let me tell you that all of the youngsters from the farms and rural areas are moving to the cities. They want jobs and to them loud music and noise becomes an addiction.
There is strength and inner peace to be found in silence and yet so many do not understand this.
Country life is balm to one's soul.
