Late sun and beautiful art sculptures.

A happy Friday to all and some unusual sculputures to show you today.
192.jpg

We popped in for coffee at a local wine farm and I took some photos there to show you some beauties.
I am in the habit of only taking nature photos, but at times I also post other interesting sights and this is one of them.
Come and have a look at the work of this master artist.

Look how beautiful her glass head reflects the tree behind her.
200.jpg

The grape vines have been pruned and prepared to be ready for new growth in the Spring season.
260.jpg

By now you should have seen that it is two seperate sculptures.
201.jpg

Here you can see the differences between the two, as they are two in a big collection of sculptures by the artist
183.jpg

I loved to see how the late sunlight was playing with the ladies.
185.jpg

Finally, just a last shot of that lady breathing the air of freedom.
189.jpg

The artist is Louis Chanu and do me a favor by visiting his site to see some more of his amazing works.

Maybe you will also want to have a look at the beautiful wine estate,

Yes we live in a beautiful area amidst nature, mountains, sea and an abundance of wildlife. A place of peace and harmony when we are out there.
Unfortunately one has to return from these short trips back to daily life and the Covid lockdowns have sown devastation in the towns over here with many small shops closed down and a mountain of unemployment and other negative issues.

I find that we can only hang on to sanity via our short escapes into nature where true peace can be found and the beauty all round is a sure balm to the mind and the soul. It's a sure place of the naked truth and it leads one into the hallways of introspection and meditation.
The works of our Creator is totally unbeatable and so sad that mankind refuses to replicate it in our hunt to serve the money god.

Just some thoughts in my mind on this rainy Friday.

And That's All Friends!

We hope that you have enjoyed the story and the photos.

It's really great work - I can't remember to ever have seen such glass sculptures before, except in your posts.

That man is a total expert my friend and I am glad that he is now much closer to us.
One of these days we will meet for a chat and I will see what comes of it.

I have the idea that he can make smaller ones as ornaments for tourists, as the big ones are expensive to export.
If he agrees, then I will get you one.

Cheers an thanks.

I think even smaller ones might be too expensive if they are handmade art, or maybe he is able to produce many of them like in a factory or so to sell them at a reasonable price to tourists.
You're too kind mate, but I'm afraid such a precious glass thing might break during transport.

Oh no, thes are made with a special mixture at very high temperatures and they are almost indestructable Hannes.
They are lightweight and as hard as steel.

My idea is that he must make smaller moulds, as then he could make 10 or 20 on a tray to put them in the oven. I really think that he could have many sales, but you know artists and he might not want to commercialize his art, as then it will become common.

Cheers and thanks.

They look like normal glass and pretty heavy - I thought glass is glass, seems I have learned something new 😁

Yep, that's what I have thought - it would go fast and would be much cheaper, I believe. Artists are a special kind of humans, and if I was such an artist I probably might also not want to sell them cheaply to the masses if I can live from selling just a few big ones.

Oh yeah, did you have a look at the artist link in the post?

That is exactly what I thinks the Louis will say to me. They want to protect their creations.

Cheers and thanks.

Yes, I have had a look and the sculptures look amazing. I really think that they are not meant for being souvenirs for tourists.

Okay and I have a feeling that you are 100% correct.
But I can tell you this, some operator is going to steal his idea and just change the composition of the material with another additive and they will go commercial with it. Mark my words.

You and I like the originals and that's how it should be.

Cheers and thanks.

Of course, there will always be the ones who copy good ideas, but original is original, just as you say.

Defintely, just look at all of the BMW clones that come onto the market, but nothing can beat the German original. I should know as I had two BMWs in the past.
But many fall for the clones and then try to convince others that it's the best 🤣

Cheers and thanks.

I don't like BMW's but German cars have the best quality of all, I think.

I would put a couple of these sculptures at home. But my wife will not approve, they are too realistic ... :)

Hahaha, shame I would also suffer if my wife had to do that to me my friend.
But she edits most of my posts and she also loves the sculptures.

Have a !BEER to feel better :)

Artwork truly defines a gracefulness between the vines breathing in fresh air, away from the calamity of daily lives.

Working Plant-Carbon Epoxy-Resin Sculptures yes I visited, could not resist, into art form must be an extensive love of labour! I noted artist uses different materials to achieve amazing work.

Thanks for sharing!

So glad that you visited the link Lady Joan and he evoked interest internationall with his mixtures that can withstand extremely high temperatures in the ovens.
That means that they are also durable in the sun and I only hope that they will not commercialise the sculptures, as then it will become meaningless.

Louis certainly brings the sculptures alve with his love and his stories.

We hope that you guys will have a good weekend.

Befitting to place them within beautiful gardens capturing the moods through the sculptures.

Gardens like this so close to home another bonus of living in the Cape. weekend greetings!

Oh yes, an ideal location for all of those master pieces, as on the artist walk there are many sculptures by different artists and and even an artist studio filled with paintings.

Somehow they hang on and protect the fauna and flora here and it's such a pleasure to visit the may gardens and open spaces.

Small oasis of places still holding onto what was, with time it will possibly disappear not being the 'culture' of the region.

Fauna and flora needs to be protected just too many not taking footprint into consideration.

Only way to heal the land is give back to nature, stop breeding!

Crazy country keeps giving child grants, so go have 4 why don't you? Local people who pay tax will be taxed higher, educate them to 18, then no jobs available so another grant to 60 years of age, well now you old enough to obtain the pension grant... What then a country with countless numbers all sitting at home not working.

Sorry a bit of a rant, if this "pandemic" was truly effective 3 to 4 billion wiped out we could perhaps refer to it as such. But no, stop the world, stop movement, stop work,.... have never seen anything so crazy!

!WINE and I mean a whole cellar full is needed to swallow this pill down, or is it a vaccination?

No ways, the land claims are screaming for them to complete the transfers and I only hope that the successful one will be cultivated to produce food for the country.

Grants equal votes Lady Joan. Education and new developments to create much more employment is the only way that this country can be saved.

Everyone hates the shut downs and we were told today that a booster shot is in the pipeline for everyone that's been vaccinated.

Take it easy and have a !BEER

Land distribution will never work, tried here in KZN in 1990s Sugar Cane Growers Association, land distributed then divided within families into smaller portions not the idea, weeding land not always done, considering corporate mills sent in assistance for land preparation, trucks to collect sugar from depots to bring to mill, paid on weight. Project was not as successful as hoped for, this is by what I remember.

Grant systems turn able working people into beggars or I want generation, most definitely not the right mindset!

Vaccinating is going to become an ongoing trend, whether you like/need it or not!

No clear answers for long as people pull apart, do not work together as one.
