So we chase the Hive price, but look what we have for free.

The photo above was a new surprise, as I have never gotten one of these before. It is a "Long Skimmer" (Orthetrum trinacria)

They say that when you appreciate what you have, then you are ready for much more. Sadly all of us were born with an inherent "want" for more and we allow this want to rule our lives.
So what do I appreciate here on Hive?
Firstly all of the special souls that support our charity work, as it is by working with the poor that one learns to appreciate what one has. Secondly I appreciate every true and honest friend that we have here, as each of you are also special people in your own rights.
I will show you here what we have at no cost, that begs for our appreciation.

These are the little things in life that I appreciate as I compare the artistry in nature to mankind's attempts at art as shown above at the sides of the roads. And there really is no comparison, me thinks! Our Creator was in a good mood when he created earth, and one can never see every stunning sight on this planet in one or a few lifetimes.
Every day is different and every chase is different. It all depends on what we are chasing after.

Thank you and yes that baby turtle was great to see.
I think the mama bird was off to to ask the leguaan that rules the pond to come and get the turtle off the roof of her house :)

Nature was made for out enjoyment and it is maddening to see the destructive nature of mankind.
That's why we are in such trouble now with the abnormal weather patterns.

Pity that others do not learn the pitfalls of greed my friend as they mature.

It holds a different kind of wealth to those mentioned above and they exploit and destroy with all might to get at the riches.
My camera continues to cry whenever it sees the damages.

The baby snapper turtle was keeping the eggs warm while mama bird was searching for food 😉

The Mantis is almost not to see, and the dragonfly is a huge thing it seems to me.

Art along the road - sometimes you can see such things here too - I like the two horses most, they look cool.

It's true, when you appreciate what you have you're ready for more, as long as you want more you will always want more. Maybe you will be satisfied after you get what you want, but soon you will want something more.

Hahaha, maybe the baby turtle was longing for the time that he was still inside an egg my friend 🤣
I would love to catch him climbing onto that nest, as I am sure it must be a battle for him.
You cannot believe how fast he jumped off that nest into the water when I allowed him to see me.

Marian saw the mantis as she was walking behind me and my eyes were fixed on the Protea tops to look for the Malachites and the Sugarbirds.

Good taste and those horses were put together with old motorcar clutch plates. They obviously get their metals from a scrap dealer. Great art methinks.

The secret is to confront the "want" and to kill it.
You are so right as the more that we get, the more we want and it is everlasting.
Nothing of this world can ever satisfy that want, as even if you have it all, you spend every minute to want more.
So if you have a roof over your head, clothes to wear and food to eat, what more then can you want?
Yes, a job and a car is nice to have and then what more? Yes a TV and a phone is great, but then what more? Yes a wife, children and a family is great, but then what more? Yes, no debts and an investment for pension is great , but then what more?
I think that by now you can catch my drift here and I can fill this page with many more wants and what's more's Hannes.
The big question is do you want appreciation?
So for now I will leave it here.

Haha, I can imagine how the turtle's jump looked like when it saw that big guy behind him 🤣

Only once in my life I have seen a mantis in nature. It was a small baby mantis and I saw it accidently sitting on the path I was walking. I put it on a flower, took a few photos and let it alone. A beautiful little insect.

Some people have a great imagination and can make everything from anything. I couldn't do such art.

Hm, if I started now to tell you what I want you would have to listen till tomorrow evening 🤣 but except the van or campervan nothing would be important and I can live well without these things.

Oh, I appreciate my life - not all has gone as wished, but as you said - roof, food, car, job, family and more are here. Well my son has the car, but he lends it to me sometimes when I ask politely 😂

The campervan van and preferably a new one should do you just fine my friend 😀

Now there you go and you can count yourself lucky my friend. My son smashed my racing cycle, the he progressed to smash the first car that I gave him and another one of mine. So, no more cars for him and then he bought his own car and also smashed it.
I don't know how many cars he has had since then, as we don't talk for some years now.
So, as long as your son looks after your loaned car, then no problem and I am glad that you ask him politely for the use of it 🤣

Yes, he has a quite new bike, but in our winters you can't ride a bike because the roads are a little bit too slippery 🤣

I agree with you and the engagement here is between like minded people. We are all owners discussing all kinds of topics. On the other sites nobody owns anything and they must all dance to the Masters tunes.

Surprising that so many don't understand this way of life. We see families that come down here to visit the sea, but they never go onto the beach as they all sit busy on their phones all day. A strange life to me.
Glad that I got the new dragonfly, as it was my first time to see it. At first I thought it was a Navy Dropwing, but then as it sat, I saw the strange colors. A real beauty.
