Playing a Parra Drum Kit for the first time [SPA|ENG]

En post anteriores les había contado que hace poco entré a la banda MEGANOVA, gracias a esta banda he vivido unos días muy movidos llenos de experiencias nuevas.

Hace poco, tuve la oportunidad de ensayar en una sala preciosa que contaba con la batería mas grande que he podido tocar hasta ahora, con 7 tambores disponibles (tom 1, tom 2, grandero 1 y 2, redoblante 1 y 2, y el bombo), y al rededor de 9 platillos distintos. Una locura de set!

El tamaño de este set puede que sea muy grande y metalero para mi estilo, pero sin duda es cool poder tener acercamientos a sets grandes, ya que al tener mas recursos aumentas las posibilidades y sonoridades disponibles.

Ahora, esto fue épico no solo porque la batería tenia mil piezas, sino porque la marca de la batería es Parra Drums, la marca venezolana de baterías con mayor renombre actualmente, hechas por el luthier Ricardo Parra, estas baterías se han expuesto en eventos como el NAMN SHOW y son utilizadas por artistas nacionales e internacionales, siendo baterías que además son muy utilizadas en estudio debido a su calidad de sonido. Por estas razones me resultó una fortuna poder probar una batería Parra al fin, y me encantó lo sencillo que fue sacarle el sonido a un producto de tan buena calidad.

In previous posts I had told you that I recently joined the band MEGANOVA, thanks to this band I have lived some very busy days full of new experiences.

Recently, I had the opportunity to rehearse in a beautiful place that had the biggest drum set I've been able to play so far, with 7 drums pieces available (tom 1, tom 2, floor tom 1 and 2, snare 1 and 2, and the bass drum), and about 9 different cymbals. A crazy set!

The size of this set may be too big and metal for my style, but it's definitely cool to be able to get closer to big sets, since having more resources increases the possibilities and sonorities available.

Now, this was epic not only because the drum set had a thousand pieces, but also because the brand of the drum set is Parra Drums, the Venezuelan brand of drums with more renown nowadays, made by the luthier Ricardo Parra, these drums have been exposed in events like the NAMN SHOW and are used by national and international artists, being drums that are also very used in studio due to their sound quality. For these reasons I was fortunate to be able to try a Parra drum set at last, and I loved how easy it was to get the sound out of such a good quality product.
