RE: Follow Friday: Respect the Mods

Thank you for mentioning I and @katharsisdrill's Kickstarter, but you've made a mistake, it's not a comic book, it is actually a short novel with illustrations done by @katharaisdrill.

About that guy who got his post rejected, that happened to me around 2 weeks ago. Once every thing was set for the Kickstarter I announced it in a post that we are launching a Kickstarter soon and I used the Theinkwell community. They came and told me they're rejecting it and muting the post, that they only accept stories not posts about stories.

It was painful but I totally understood and thought it was fair. It was my fault for not reading their rules before using their community. But then yesterday I opened the post on hive and saw that muting was actually worse than what I thought it was. Muting made all the links and pictures on the post disappear! With a bracket replacing them like this:

It was really sad, I started feeling like it was harsh to do that to a guy like me who was just excited for his first book. I had also linked the post to the main announcement post not knowing that muting had the post looking like that, looking like I was fake or a scammer or something. Phew!

I kept telling myself that harsh or not, it was still my fault for not reading their rules and that they're not entirely to blame. So I kept mum about it.

Sorry for the mistake. I can correct that in the post.

I assume muting a post in a community is an all or nothing action, so you cannot really blame the moderators. People go there expecting a certain sort of post and they want to keep it on topic. How the post is shown is down to the front ends.

Yeah, true, can't really blame em. You mean you can correct it? And everything would be perfect again?

All I can change is my own post :)

Alright. There's no need anymore, though, the post is old. Luckily it wasn't the main announcement post.
