Hello everyone, it's been a while since I've posted, and I'm having some difficulties doing so due to a lack of power and my data network provider.

Today, I'll demonstrate the steps involved in making Ogbono soup.
Ogbono is a substantial Nigerian soup made with bush mango seeds (Ogbono seeds) and precooked meat. Serve with smooth, flavorful, and full Pounded Yam for an exceptional African dining experience!

The Ingredients

  • Assorted meat and Pomo (Cow skin)

  • Crayfish

  • Smoked Fish

  • Palm Oil

  • Blended Pepper (red pepper, tomatoes and onions)

  • Palm Oil

  • Blended Ògbono seed
  • Ugu leave (Vegetable)
  • Maggi and Salt
  • Yam for the pounded yam.

Step 1: Wash your pomo and smoke fish then place it a clean pot and cook for some minutes.

Step 2: Now place an another pot over medium heat and add the palm oil. Add the blended Pepper once the oil is hot. Add the Maggi and Salt.

Step 3: Add the stock fish and the crayfish and stir, then cover to cook for 3 minutes.

Step 4: Simmer for 4-6 minutes or longer after adding the salt, Maggi, and crayfish.

Step 5: Wash the ugu leaf (vegetable) and add it to the sauce, then add the Blended Ogbono seed

Step 7: Cover and allow to simmer for 10 minutes

Step 8: Now quickly boil the yam, please do not add salt to the yam, get a smooth mortar and pestle and pound the yam.

Step 8: Check and taste the soup, if it needs more maggi or salt, add small to it then leave it to simmer for another 10 minutes or until the vegetable is well cooked. Remove from heat and enjoy with the pounded yam.

I would love to try pounded yams too. The texture looks creamy :)

Definitely worth trying, you can also buy the already mad yam powder all you have to do is boil water and add the yam powder then use turning stick to turn it until you get a smooth and creamy texture.

This is quite easy than using the mortar and pestle, there’s lesser stress plus the time consumed will reduced.

Thank you for visiting my blog, and thank you for your support ❤️❤️
