Visitando la plaza del Valle [Esp/Eng]

Hola amigos de Hive y Hive Margarita, como se encuentran? Yo muy bien, esperando que lleguen por fin las vacaciones que ya falta poco para descansar de tanto estudiar y poder escribir normal. Hoy les quiero contar de un lugar de Margarita que yo no conocía y eso que está medio cerca, y es un pueblo que se llama El Valle, que está en el municipio García, pero específicamente les quiero hablar de una plaza que está ahí cerca de una Iglesia y que me pareció bonita.

Hello, friends of Hive and Hive Margarita, how are you? I'm doing very well, waiting for the holidays to finally arrive so I can take a break from studying and write normally. Today I want to tell you about a place in Margarita that I didn't know about, even though it's quite close by. It's a town called El Valle, located in the municipality of García, but specifically I want to talk about a square near a church that I thought was beautiful.

Esa plaza está como al lado de la iglesia y aunque no es una plaza muy grande como la de La Asunción por ejemplo sí tiene buen tamaño, un lugar perfecto para ir y pasar rato con la familia. Ese día que fui fue con mi familia porque fuimos a un acto que tenía mi prima Victoria por su graduación y fuimos todos, hasta mi abuela que es tía de la mamá de Victoria, y para mí era la primera vez en mi vida que íbamos para esa parte de Margarita.

No fuimos a muchos lugares porque por el acto eso estaba full, pero fuimos por la iglesia porque por ahí estaba mi prima, pero después de un rato ella y todos los que se graduaban iban para la universidad y como ellos iban caminando y corriendo no podíamos ir en el carro y teníamos que esperar y menos mal que estaba esa plaza porque ahí nos pusimos a esperar.

That square is next to the church, and although it's not as big as La Asunción, for example, it's still a good size, a perfect place to go and spend time with the family. The day I went, I was with my family because we were going to my cousin Victoria's graduation ceremony, and we all went, even my grandmother, who is Victoria's mother's aunt. It was the first time in my life that I had been to that part of Margarita.

We didn't go to many places because the event was packed, but we went to the church because my cousin was there. After a while, she and all the other graduates went to the university, and since they were walking and running, we couldn't go by car and had to wait. Luckily, there was that plaza, so we waited there.

Esta plaza yo me imagino que se tiene que llamar **Plaza Santiago Mariño" porque la estatua que tiene es del General en Jefe Santiago Mariño, un prócer muy importante de aquí de Margarita y que justamente nació ahí en El Valle y seguro por eso le pusieron el nombre a esta plaza.

Como ya les dije no es ni grande ni chiquita, tiene muchísimos árboles grandes que dan bastante sombra y también hay muchos bancos para sentarse a descansar y algo que me gustó es que alrededor hay muchos lugares donde comprar cosas para sentarse a comer como dulces tradicionales, también "raspaos", venden empanadas por ahí mismo y también hay una panadería.

De un lado tiene la iglesia y de los otros tres lados hay puros negocios que solo hay que cruzar la calle para comprar y volver a sentarse en la plaza.

I imagine this square must be called Plaza Santiago Mariño because the statue there is of General Santiago Mariño, a very important historical figure from Margarita who was born right there in El Valle, which is surely why they named the square after him.

As I said, it's neither big nor small. It has lots of large trees that provide plenty of shade, and there are also many benches to sit and rest. Something I liked is that there are many places around the square where you can buy things to sit and eat, such as traditional sweets, raspaos, empanadas, and there's also a bakery.

On one side is the church, and on the other three sides, there are only shops, so you just have to cross the street to buy something and then come back and sit in the square.

Otra cosa que me gustó es que por los árboles tienen como un adorno en el piso con piedras diferentes y que hacen como unas figuras y hace que se vea bien bonito, también hay papeleras por todos lados para que la plaza se mantenga limpia, y sí lo está, no había nada de basura, y también en varias partes hay unos cañones bien antiguos.

También hay muchísimas palomas en la plaza y casi casi que se dejan agarrar porque no se espantan 😂

Another thing I liked is that around the trees there are decorations on the ground made of different stones that form shapes and make it look really pretty. There are also trash cans everywhere to keep the square clean, and it is clean—there was no trash anywhere. There are also some very old cannons in various places.

There are also lots of pigeons in the square, and they almost let you touch them because they're not scared 😂
