Inmensidad bravía
Mi ser se estremece con tus paisajes,
eres menjurje de querer fecundo,
sabana, llanura al igual que fundo,
embrujo de delicias tus forrajes.
Mi llano es intrigante y maniobrero,
rebosante de leyendas e historias,
supersticiones relatan memorias,
creencias de un sentir aventurero.
Sonatas llaneras, coplas de amor,
sentir de aromas, sabor a rocío,
arraigos de sol y luna es candor.
La llanura pide faena y brío,
al cantar de gallos, a la labor,
tributo a este territorio bravío.

Brave immensity
My being trembles with your landscapes,
you are a mixture of fertile desire,
savannah, plains as well as the deep,
your fodder is a spell of delights.
My plain is intriguing and maneuverable
brimming with legends and stories,
superstitions tell memories,
beliefs of an adventurous feeling.
Llanera songs, love couplets,
a sense of aromas, a taste of dew,
roots of sun and moon is candor.
The plains call for a fight and vigor,
to the cock crowing, to the work,
tribute to this brave territory.

Muy bien logrado este soneto, tanto en la métrica como en la rima, con un vocabulario que se corresponde en mucho con la vida en los llanos venezolanos que, es lo que describe acertadamente la temàtica: la vida en los llanos y de los llaneros.
