First Magic Monk Arcades Event

Hey everyone. I've described in detail the Magic Monk Arcades event pretty well in my last post, so I am just going to do a quick summary over here. This Saturday 24th September 9pm UTC (make sure you check what time that is in your area), I am going to be on Discord on my server Magic Monk Arcades (https://discord.gg/ZXXNj7J9QY) where you can challenge me in either Multiversus or Land-io (a snake-like game you can play inside Discord).

How you can win HIVE is described in that post so I will let you read it for the details. But I would welcome anyone wanting to have a practice game with me beforehand so we don't have any troubles on the day trying to link up! I have already had a few practice games with @shortshots who joined my server via one of my previous articles. We had some great games and he has improved super quickly for someone who just started. It looks like he has a good chance to take 10 Hive off me!

How to win playing Land-io on Discord (and how to get into the game)

Land-io is a very simple game you can play within Discord - you don't even have to leave Discord to play it - you can play it directly inside a voice channel. That is the cool thing about it - no more running Discord in the background and trying to invite your mates to change the game you're playing - they can join the game themselves simply by joining the channel that you're in.

Another cool thing about Land-io is that not only can you play with people in the same voice channel as you, if you want you can also join a Public game, so people in your channel can VS people in other channels that might not even be on your discord server. This is cool because even if you don't have friends to play with, you can simply just start the game in a voice channel and then join a public server to play.

So about the actual strategies. In this game, the objective is to create an enclosure with your snake-like character, so that the space enclosed becomes your land. The more land you have at the end of the game, the higher your rank is. When you are running around trying to take more land, you need to be careful that nobody runs into the path you're creating, because then you get cut off and lose all your land to that person.

So the strategy is simply 2 things: 1. Don't get cut off and 2. Cut other people off. To avoid getting cut off, you have to basically be super aware of your surroundings and as soon as you see someone within your vincinity, play conservative and barely leave your land. While you are on your land, you are immue from being cut off at the tail. This will also help with cutting other people off, because if they try to steal your land, you have a huge advantage as you are invincible while you're on your land, so just stay on your land as much as possible if there are people around, and try to cut them off.
