Capturing Solemnity and spiritual depth through visiting Churches in Basilica in Cebu

Hello worldmappin 👋🏽 How's everyone doing here..I hope you're doing great this time..
Just want to share to you my meaningful way of visiting some churches in Cebu City to pray, reconnect and to do sacrifice this Lenten season..

$1
After all the travels and visiting beautiful beaches in Bohol here I am now back in my hometown in Cebu and planned to observe different activities here in celebration of this Lenten season..

As I entered the church, a lot of people were already engaging in different church activities like they're attending masses, participating in confession and some were offering prayers for renewal of faith.

After reflecting and doing penance, I started to roam around the place and wander.. slightly taking photos of the different structures I find most of these fascinating..The distinct styles of the architecture inside really reflected the history and the culture of the local people in the place.

It's very visible that the church was a Spanish inspired architecture, mostly of its features were influenced by them..The stone facade, the different intricate designs and patterns and it's religious symbols all were patterned to the Spanish Colonial Architecture..

The Basilica Minore Del Sto.Niño in Cebu City is a popular church that's being known as the oldest Roman Catholic Church and is considered as a pilgrimage site both for locals and foreigns..
$1
I was also got focused on how the church were built since this was the oldest church here in the place..It's very clear that it's being reconstructed using the stones, the materials were off high quality that can withstand disasters and calamities...
As one of the devotee and a pilgrim I appreciate visiting this church in Cebu where I find solemnity and a time to slowing down and to embrace silence and stillness allowing our thoughts to guide us while where inside in the sacred place..
The day became a productive day ended with a powerful way of prayer instead of ended it with some noise..

This would be all for now and see you in my next travel blog journey..bhe👏🏽👏🏽👋🏽👋🏽

These places are vital bridges between the colonial past and the future identity of the Philippines. Documenting them in this way helps preserve our collective memory.
