The Magic of Vegetation in December / La magia de la vegetación en diciembre
We are in December, a really special month in which celebrations and festive atmosphere take over every corner. Although in my country, during this time, vegetation does not show its greenest splendor due to the approaching colder months, but as we Cubans usually say, "Cuba is an eternal summer". And it is precisely in the midst of this charming contrast that I come across a beautiful visual treat.
Estamos en diciembre, un mes realmente especial en el que las celebraciones y el ambiente festivo se apoderan de cada rincón. Aunque en mi país, durante esta época, la vegetación no muestra su más verde esplendor debido a que se acercan los meses más fríos, pero como solemos decir los cubanos, "Cuba es un eterno verano". Y es precisamente en medio de este encantador contraste que me encuentro con un regalo visual hermoso.
As I walk to work along 30th Street in the Miramar neighborhood, in the Playa municipality, my eyes come across a vine of flowers adorning the entrance of a building, unfurling their petals in a dance of tender colors. I can not resist and I stop on the road to capture that image in a photograph, I always pass by that street for several years and I had never seen them so beautiful.
Mientras camino hacia el trabajo por la calle 30 del barrio Miramar, en el municipio Playa, mis ojos se topan con una enredadera de flores que adornan la entrada de un edificio, desplegando sus pétalos en una danza de tiernos colores. No puedo resistir y me detuve en el camino para capturar esa imagen en una fotografía, siempre paso por varios años por esa calle y nunca las había visto así tan bonitas.
I continue on my way and, as I go along, I come across several trees in bloom. In addition, a succession of trees on the edge of 30th Street with leafy canopies that intertwine, creating a natural tunnel that invites you to pass underneath. The cool shade they cast is a balm in the hottest months, offering welcome relief amid the daily hustle and bustle.
Continúo mi camino y, a medida que avanzo, me encuentro con varios árboles en flor. Además, una sucesión de árboles al borde de la calle 30 con frondosas copas que se entrelazan, creando un túnel natural que invita a pasar por debajo. La fresca sombra que proyectan es un bálsamo en los meses más calurosos, ofreciendo un bienvenido alivio en medio del ajetreo diario.
As I reach 3rd Avenue, where my workplace is located, nature is present in its maximum splendor. An endless row of green trees line both sides of the avenue, providing a breath of freshness and serenity in the midst of bustling urban life. It's a visual treat that reminds us of the importance of connecting with nature, even in urban settings.
Al llegar a la 3ª Avenida, donde se encuentra mi lugar de trabajo, la naturaleza está presente en su máximo esplendor. Una interminable hilera de verdes árboles bordea ambos lados de la avenida, proporcionando un soplo de frescor y serenidad en medio de la bulliciosa vida urbana. Es un regalo visual que nos recuerda la importancia de conectar con la naturaleza, incluso en entornos urbanos.
The entrance to my workplace is also a very peaceful and attractive place, thanks to a small garden that is very well cared for by the center's employees. The care of this space has become a collective task, and the results are evident. The flowerbeds are full of life, with flowers and beautiful palm trees. These flowers highlight the majesty of the two statues in the garden, giving them a natural frame that enhances their presence.
La entrada a mi lugar de trabajo también es un lugar muy tranquilo y vistoso, gracias a un pequeño jardín muy bien cuidado por los trabajadores del centro. El cuidado de este espacio se ha convertido en una tarea colectiva, y los resultados son evidentes. Los parterres están llenos de vida, con flores y lindas palmeras. Estas flores resaltan la majestuosidad de las dos estatuas del jardín, dándoles un marco natural que realza su presencia.
My obligations call me and I have to enter my office to start my workday, I did not want to miss the opportunity to share with you these views that gives me the vegetation of my city. It is as if the plants and trees are dressed up, anticipating the arrival of Christmas this year.
