In my previous post, I talked about my birthday celebration at Duwa. And here I am going to write again on another birthday eating, also at Duwa!!! It was so kind and nice of my friend, @josephinengpy7, who took time to treat me a meal despite her packed schedule. She asked me whether did I mind going to the same place again, knowing I just went to Duwa, and I totally did not mind going again to explore other food in the menu.

First thing first, I was trained to take a photo without looking at the camera lense. Posing without any professional poser technique, I looked so awkward. However, thank you, Jo, for the photo. Love it!

The Food We Ordered!

Aglio Olio

As I had mentioned in my previous blog, I wanted to try Duwa's aglio olio. I am always a fan of aglio olio for whatever reason. We ordered aglio olio beef and it was a good choice. Very flavourful, enough fragrance from thw garlic in olive oil, generous with beef and vegetables. Delicious!!!

Roasted Chicken Foccacia

I learned that foccacia is a flat Italian bread made with yeast and olive oil, flavoured with herbs. The foccacia here was fluffy and a nice bite to it. It really paired well with the roasted chicken. This plate also came with chips in truffle flavour. Yummyyyy!!!

Sourdough toast

The lady in charge recommended this to my friend, you may choose to go with honey or butter & kaya. My friend chose butter and kaya or the lady chose for her. It came with half-boiled eggs too. It was to her liking to dip the sourdough toast into the half-boiled egg, whereas I preferred to eat on its own, without dipping into half-boiled eggs. What about you?

Coffee!!!

And of course, we had our coffee too! I chose latte because I loved coffee with lesser foam, if without, even better. I remembered when I first went out with my husband (that time was my boyfriend), he ordered cappuccino for me. I asked him to drink the top layer of foam or else I would scoop them all out. He must be thinking what a weird girl was I, but too bad, we got married anyway. Haha! However, I had learned to appreciate cappuccino too — sipping the coffee together with the foam is an acquired skill for me. 😂

Menu

I love that Duwa has simple menu, not overly exhaustive until you do not know what to choose. I must say, all of their food are delicious.


Ambience

In love with their sleek and simple ambience, giving customers the relaxing kind of vibe. Although not a very spacious shop, it is comfortable enough for a meal and catch up with family and friends. There is a corner selling sourdough and other pastries. All made by themselves.

We had a good time heart-to-heart talk. It is good to have a friend whom you can talk to, whom you can trust and we could talk about our life and also doing life together. I had known her for so long, witnessing her from a little teenager to a woman, building character upon character, I could not be more proud of her. Always a great younger sister to me. Of course, forever taller than me. Very grateful a lovely meal together. Keep it up, Jo! Another good company with good food.
