Exploring Trang An (UNESCO World Heritage Site)

Hey everyone, at the beginning I would like to welcome you to my new post and hope you have a week so far which is full of interesting experiences! In my new post I would like to share an experience I had in Vietnam and am happy if you appreciate my post.

I have already visited some amazing countries in the past and one of them was definitely Vietnam, which is really hard to beat due to the diversity. In total, I spent almost a month in Vietnam and explored pretty much all the most important places and on my trip, of course, a detour to Ninh binh could not be missed, which was one of the most beautiful areas I got to see here. There was the possibility to do different boat tours here, which may make it a bit complicated to choose the right one at the beginning, but it can be roughly said that the tour which starts right in the core of Ninh binh was not the best choice, which is why I decided to visit Trang An, which is also known as a World Heritage Site. To get there I rented a bike next to my hotel and followed the main road until I came across a cosy country road which I followed until I was at my destination and already the ride led through a breathtaking landscape and traditional places and took about 30 minutes from the town centre.

When I arrived at the spot, I could choose between different tours and in order not to make the wrong decision, I asked two locals beforehand, which both gave me a clear answer, but I am sure that the others are also great. My tour led through several different caves which was just breathtaking and in some places it was also quite tight but I was warned here by the boatmaster in advance. I shared the boat with a friendly family and that is probably also the rule that if not too many people get together, the boat is shared with others which was no problem for me. The trip took a little longer than three hours in total and led not only through caves and stops were also made to visit old temples and here we had enough time to explore the terrain as well as to enter the temples and on that day the weather was also on our side and not too many tourists were here. The guide of the boat was very competent and described again and again what it is about and in addition I got a map right at the beginning that lists the route.

The boat had no engine and was operated in a classic way which had made the experience much more authentic and the tour was therefore extremely quiet and we could concentrate well on nature. It was the perfect mix of culture and nature and I could also learn a lot about the native landscape in which also various native birds have shown up and since we were still on the road early in the morning, it was also relatively cool, but the whole area was not too hot compared to other parts of the country and during my stay it was generally rather cool with 14 degrees Celsius.

It's very important to note that everything takes place outside, which is why the right day should be chosen to make the best possible experience and looking back I would describe it as one of the most beautiful experiences I had during my time in Vietnam and can also recommend to others. In general, I would also say that two or three nights in Ninh binh are enough because there is not much to see here and it is perfect for a stopover on the trip and others also make a day trip here which is too short as I think why it should be considered to stay at least one night to experience the area more, but three nights were perfect for me.

That is so amazingly cool! Traditional boat ride without motors and so much incredible beauty along the way... What an experience. The temples are fantastic as well, and it sounds life the temperature was perfect to enjoy the surroundings.

I'm so jealous, what a great experience!
