Elsbeth was on her fourth pug she just couldn't help herself.

what was more joyous than a basketful of pugs? she thought, as the fourth began to wriggle and bark, floating as he was in the air.

Elsbeth often took the phrase "Make some friends" a bit too literal but one could hardly blame her.

Could you with their homely cuteness?

"A basket full of joy", she said to her new 'friends'.

As you are my newly made friends let's have a bit of an adventure.

And off they'd pop, the pug loving lady and her basket of new friends, to visit parallel universes and other realities. Mother always said to make new friends whenever you can.

I hope you like today's silliness. I've been having fun just adding color and making gifs of my black and white ink drawings. This was the original for this piece, which was made for inktober in 2018 I believe:

Black and white inking

As usual I start with sketches and doodles and then scan and for my black and white inks I just use various 'ink nibs' in my old corel programme and take out any midtones, so all that is left is the black against the white.

I've been finding that these inkings are fun to play with by adding colour and funny textures in photoshop. I'm a novice at photoshop and I know there are SO many tools and brushes I could use, but I've no idea how,so I just play about and do what seems fun. I rather like that.

In a way I use my digital art tools rather like my real life tools, so a few pieces get used a lot I've a few favorite brushes and pens digitally and I just keep going back to them, of course probably missing out on so much more potential in the digital toolbox, but we get into habits that are hard to break.

I do hope you enjoyed my lady and her pugs today and I hope for you to find a moment in your day to indulge in your own passions. And most of all, remember to stay creative.
