WHAT NEXT AFTER THE COMPLETION OF MY FASHION TRAINING?

It's a beautiful Saturday morning here and the weather is very cool. All thanks to the downpour over the night that lasted about an hour. At least it has reduced the rate at which everywhere is badly hot to a certain extent. My weekend is taking a different shape today and as I type this I'm very stressed out. The initial plan was to rest all through the day after doing one or two chores but it didn't work out has planned.

I have concluded my fashion training last week to the glory of God and it is time to take the next step, which is searching for a suitable space to set up my own Fashion Shop. Prior to today I have spoke with one or two agents about it and they promised to contact me as soon as they get one. I was still in bed this morning when my phone rang and it was a call from one of them. He has got about four different locations that he want to show me and considering the urgency as well as how fast people take up vacant spaces I had to schedule an appointment with him for 8am.

As usual, it is a normal practice for house/shop agents to demand for inspection/mobilization fee which is about N2,000 before they take an client to any available space. I tried to negotiate with him but it was all to no avail as he insisted it was the normal charge. When it was time to get a bike to the location, he still told me that I'd be the one to pay for the cost of transportation and I was like how do I still pay for your transport when I have already paid you earlier for the inspection. It's looking more like extortion at this point.

To cut the long story short, I could not settle for any of the shops he showed me due to a couple of reasons. The first reason is that most of them are not in a good location, that is, where passerbys would easily spot the shop. A business such as a fashion designer business needs exposure. I intend to sell sewing materials as well in the shop, so it will need to be in a strategic place where people that are passing by can easily see what they like. The other challenge is that the other ones he showed me are above my budget and are not also in a strategic location. Starting up a new business is not easy in this part of the world and it is important to do according to one's ability. As the business grows, there's always room for expansion.

Thankfully, the inspection/mobilization fee that I paid is a one-off, so he promise to be on the look out for more strategic locations as I have suggested and get back to me as soon as possible. Hopefully I will get a feedback after the Sallah break next week so that I can commence other process.

Thank you for your time lovelies.
