New Month, Fresh Start and Hive Power Up Day
It is July. I am finding that this year is flying by. Maybe it is because my favourite sport, football, hasn't really had its usual summer break. Instead, it has gone from League football around the world to diving straight into a big World Cup that has also been heavily expanded from previous editions. Or maybe it's that I am finding more hobbies and just running out of time to fit them all in and prioritise them. Or maybe that one of my goals (travelling somewhere new) has not happened due to struggling to save up, and as a punishment, the days are flying by quickly. All that being said, despite some hiccups this month, it has still been mostly positive.
Clearing up debt. I wouldn't say I am in any crazy debt; I had some emergencies to sort out which hit big, but the savings from the previous months helped, and I avoided using credit cards, loans, etc. Hopefully, this time next month that will all be settled. As long as my work keeps feeding me overtime, I should be able to properly begin saving. It is challenging, but with cancelling all my subscriptions and now using A cheap moped to get around, saving me money and time on public transport, I find myself spending less and having more free time to be productive.
Getting healthy. Over the past month I have been playing football weekly on Wednesdays with some people who are over 35+. Sadly, I can't join the team officially as it's a veterans league, but I am allowed to participate in friendly matches, and with the cost being just £3 a session and the event being focused towards men's mental health, I find it quite enjoyable. I also got to participate in a charity game over the weekend, which was very nice. It just felt good to play football again, and better that it was with friendly people where ability doesn't matter.
Reading on the down, but I blame the sun for that. The heat in June here in the east of England has been very hot. So hot that it was a challenge to do anything but seek shade and try to stay cool; most people here don't have Air conditioning, and the people who went out to buy the units found that most shops had temporarily sold out. Regardless of this I managed to read two books, not the 3 books I had hoped for but 2 books fully read and 3-5 books around halfway; it sets me up for a positive July and still on track to hit my 30 books read for 2026.

As with the new month, I have also participated in Hive Power Up Day for the second month in a row. Not as much HIVE this month, but putting 100 Hive into power up is better than none at all. I believe in this chain!
I am looking forward to the month ahead, and I would like to be more engaging on Hive this month as the unbearable heat destroyed any energy I had. Thanks for reading.

Keeping the finances under control makes life less stressful. I hope you can do it. It makes me laugh that over 35 is 'veterans'. I'm well past that.
Have fun and keep on powering up!
