Weekly Engagement-WK 32: THAT ONE SKILL

Learning a skill was one of the things I found so difficult in my life. During my secondary School days, i see my classmates making other students hair and making some money for themselves. I tried leaning it by couldn't. After secondary School, my parents took me to a fashion designers shop to learn how to sow clothes. Hehe, i only learned how to put threads on the niddles, ion clothes and fix botten on the clothes. I also managed to learn how to amend som clothes but couldn't learn how to cut or sew new clothes. Why i was not able to learn those skills is because, my mind was in education. While my parents wants me to learn a skill in other to help them due to the point they don't have enough money to enroll me in University level.

In my mind, i really wants to learn a skill but it was very difficult to me. One day, with tears in my eyes and my two knees on the ground, i prayed to God to give me the ability to learn a skill. After praying, i returned back to a hair dressing shop and within some months i began doing well in my learning skills. So, the skill that am very good at is hair dressing work. It took me roughly two years to perfect in this skill. Though it was hard for me at the initial stage but today, am enjoying it. It's very easy for me now and am enjoying the skill because it has helped me a lot.

Leaning this skill is a blessing to me. While most girls are sleeping around for money for their upkeep, my skill gave me money to care for my needs. Learning this skill made me to have value in my family, before my friends and my customers. Because i learned it to the point that once i bread one person, hse will bring another customer to me. With this skill, am not lacking.

I can remember when i traveled newly to Akwa Ibom state Nigeria, I had nothing accept my combs and dummy head. Knowing the kind of skill i have, i went to the market to get a weavon, turned it into wig and wore it to the dummy. Used stoll to sample ot in my frontage and poeple started coming. That's how i started having customers. Before you know it, i became popular in the street. So, it's advisable to have a skill should incase you don't have a job after school or it can still serve as your side hustling. My skill is really helping me uptl till date.**

Am ready to help others learn this skill both online and offline. Someone thought me the skill and it's never a crime for me teach others. So, i want others to benefit from me the way i benefited from another person. Before now, I have trained many to acquire this skill. But currently not training anyone due to the fact that am not doing it steadily. But once i establish my shop which am working on, i will have many trained to acquire this skill.*
