Here is the story of jane Higgins
After a busy day, she sat down at the 30mm, birch veneered and semi-matt lacquered MDF table inside the diner and began to look through the menu to order. She could examine all kinds of building elements that make up a living space around her and know what material was used to do them. But sometimes she just wanted to sit in a chair that meant nothing to her, like other people and put her elbows on a table where she didn't wonder what it was made of. She felt that this was both an advantage and a curse of being an architect.
Yes, it was a busy day, torturing. The mere thought of being the architect of the 124-story hotel under construction in the city center was tiring her right now. However, she was building simple ecological and healthy houses in the countryside before. Just when everything was going perfectly, Misael Conrad, that politician, appeared before her.
He had asked if she wanted to design the new building planned to be built in the city center. Undoubtedly, he was in love with Jane, and he had made this proposal to impress her. But she had not calculated what a man would do for his love.
Jane was teaching at a yoga retreat, and Misael was a new millionaire politician. His technology giant company bought a famous social media platform 2 years ago. Since then, he has devoted his resources to get involved in politics and has benefited from the effects of this platform. The youngsters loved him, the boomers looked at him with some question marks, but they didn't know how to deal with him so they preferred to be on his side too. But being famous and popular was tiring, and he often made such escapades.
He and Jane became close and had been together for a while after that. Just then, when he made this offer, Jane first thought he was kidding, but then she decided to play the game. A week after their talk, a huge helicopter landed in the middle of the ecological camp and Jane entrusted everything to her friends and went to the meeting. She was a good designer and she was confident. Of course, she had lived in the big city before and had tasted all the chaos and knew how to get along with people.
The next day she saw that a 7-figure down-payment was made in her account. She was being pulled back into the city at a speed she couldn't control. A month later, she rented a suite in the city center and started working. She hadn't realized how quickly time had passed. She couldn't even see Misael anymore. Because he was working for his own campaign.
And that day, she found herself questioning what she was doing. On the 82nd floor of the skyscraper construction, she realized that she could not breathe while explaining to the engineers why that mechanical system could not pass through the ceiling of that room. And she got on the freight elevator with the workers and threw herself into her favorite diner.
She asked for her favorite dessert and a strawberry milkshake. She had made her decision. She took out her phone and wrote to Misael: "Thanks for everything, but I can't live in this city any longer. If you want to find me, you know where I am!”
Two weeks later, while watching the sunset on her favorite chaise longue, she realized that a vague figure was approaching. It was Misael. He got closer and said, “F*ck all those politicians, I don't want to be a part of this!”. He lay down on the chaise longue next to Jane. Without saying a word, Jane poured a glass of lemonade from the pitcher and handed it to him. They were happy now!
