"My Music Monday" [Eng-Esp]

But I don't plan to start this week with a Juan Gabriel song. Rather, I have been feeling that enthusiasm and optimism that songs with a good mix of lyrics and rhythm transmit to me, which brings me to songs like "Cuídate" by La oreja de van Gogh. It's the first song I listened to today, and I really feel that energy that fuels any possible inspiration or determination, the one we need to take the first step of a great journey ahead.

I could easily pull from a single band many songs that feed my emotions and my attitude, and van Gogh's ear is one of those. Still, this start looks like a variety of quality music, and for that we can raise the curtain to songs like Ricardo Arjona's "Hoy es un buen día para empezar" (Today is a good day to start). Normally we tend to mark a special time, day or date to start something, but the absolute truth is conveyed in the title of that song, and that is that "the best time to start is "NOW".

Has it ever happened to you that you wake up with all the energy and intention in the world but you just can't get going? It's as if you say "Today is my day" and you feel that nothing is going to stop you. But then, you feel that as time goes by that energy fades, and you end up wishing the day or the week itself was over. That's when music comes to the rescue and becomes that electric charge that revitalizes our emotions, and even if the outlook is not entirely favorable, because "we sing in the rain", and show that success and happiness is something that is still within our reach.

Pero esta semana no pienso iniciarla con un tema de Juan Gabriel. Más bien, me he sentido con ese entusiasmo y optimismo que me transmiten canciones con buen mix de letra y ritmo, lo cual me lleva a canciones como “Cuídate” de la oreja de van Gogh. Es la primera canción que escuché hoy, y realmente siento esa energía que alimenta cualquier inspiración o determinación posible, esa que necesitamos para dar el primer paso de un gran recorrido que tenemos por delante.

Fácilmente podría de un solo grupo sacar muchos temas que alimenten mis emociones y mi actitud, y la oreja de van Gogh es uno de esos. Aún así, este comienzo pinta para la variedad en música de calidad, y para eso podemos subir el telón a temas como “Hoy es un buen día para empezar “ de Ricardo Arjona. Normalmente tenemos la tendencia de marcar una hora, un día o fecha especial para iniciar algo, pero la verdad absoluta se transmite en el título de dicha canción, y es que “el mejor momento para empezar es “YA”.

¿Alguna vez les ha pasado que se despiertan con todo el ímpetu y la intención del mundo pero no terminan de arrancar? Es como si dijeras “Hoy es mi día “ y sientes que nada te lo va a impedir. Pero entonces, sientes que con el transcurso del tiempo esa energía se desvanece, y terminas deseando que el día o la misma semana terminen. Es allí cuando la música llega al rescate y se convierte en esa carga eléctrica que revitaliza nuestras emociones, y por más que el panorama no esté del todo favorable, pues “cantamos bajo la lluvia “, y demostramos que el éxito y la felicidad es algo que sigue estando a nuestro alcance.

Salsa, merengue, ballads, rock... What do you want to paint the beginning of your week with? Cheer up! And let the color of the music determine where you want to go, and how far you are capable of going. A good theme song can bring out the best in us, and make it shine brighter. Listening to your favorite song will give you the strength you need to not give up on anything, and that there is no storm that can undermine the enjoyment that music offers us.

Behind every story there is a life, and many are written with the melody of a good song. There are songs that describe part of our lives and we identify with them, giving them the ideal space to remain in our lives through memories. So if you have already started your day, your week, your time with the best possible determination, go ahead! And if you haven't yet, don't worry. There are plenty of songs waiting for you to make it a special one. Any particular song to get you started?

"It's never too late to start, and even less so if it's about enjoying yourself through good music". And so begins "My Music Monday", with these songs that affirm in me, the desire and intention to give the best of me in everything I want to do. In love with music and those songs that feed the most beautiful feeling that can exist.

Salsa, merengue, baladas, rock.. ¿Con qué deseas pintar el inicio de tu semana? ¡Anímate! Y deja que el color de la música determine hacia donde quieres ir, y hasta donde eres capaz de llegar. Un buen tema musical puede sacar lo mejor que tenemos, y hacerlo brillar con más intensidad. Escuchar tu canción favorita te dará la fuerza que necesitas para no rendirte ante nada, y que no hay tormenta alguna que pueda socavar el disfrute que nos ofrece la música.

Detrás de cada historia hay una vida, y muchas se escriben con la melodía de una buena canción. Hay canciones que describen parte de nuestra vida y nos identificamos con ellas, dándole el espacio ideal para que permanezcan en nuestra vida a través de los recuerdos. Así que si ya has iniciado tu día, tu semana, tu tiempo con la mejor determinación posible, ¡Adelante! Y si todavía no lo has hecho pues no te preocupes.
